Our tiny Catholic Church in rural Alabama had about 170 people today in a Church that only seats about 125.
All pews were shoulder to shoulder full with people standing all around the walls.
What a wonderful problem to have!! ✝️

Today we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which means that at the end of her life, Mary was taken into heaven, body and soul. Declared a dogma in 1950 by Pope Pius XII.
Jesus, in the Ascension, went up to heaven by His own divine power (Acts 1:9), while Mary, in the Assumption, was taken up to heaven by God’s power, as a gift of His grace (Rev. 12:1).
From her Immaculate Conception, preserved from original sin, to the virginal conception of Jesus by the Holy Spirit, Mary’s life was marked by God’s extraordinary grace. These divine events found their perfect completion in her Assumption, where she, free from sin and full of grace, was welcomed into heaven, body and soul.
Mary’s life was full of faith, trust, and love for God—from saying “yes” to the angel, to standing at the cross, to rejoicing in the resurrection. She shared in Jesus’ victory over death and now enjoys the fullness of His promise. Her Assumption is a sign of hope for us: one day, we too will be raised to eternal life with Christ.
God created the world out of nothing (Genesis 1:1), nothing is impossible for Him (Luke 1:37). Just as Enoch “walked with God, and was no more” (Genesis 5:24) and Elijah “was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind” (2 Kings 2:11), so too Mary was taken into glory.
Scripture hints at this mystery in Revelation 12:1, portraying “a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars”, a vision the Church sees as Mary in heavenly glory.
Let us trust God as Mary did, knowing nothing is impossible for Him, and live each day in faith until we share in His glory.

Hospitals and its staff have no reason to look down on patients utilizing their HMO. What exactly do you even mean by “HMO patient” as though they’re receiving charity?
The HMO is paying for the service. Employers have paid for the cover. Employees have earned that benefit through their hard work. Healthcare under an HMO is not a favour, it’s a legitimate payment arrangement.
The quality of care, professionalism and respect a patient receives should never depend on the payment channel. A patient is a patient.
If your hospital offers free medical care as an employee benefit, would you refuse it because it’s “free”? Benefits are part of your total compensation, just like your salary.
Healthcare providers should focus on delivering quality care, not creating a two-tier experience where people paying through an HMO are treated as though they are less valuable.
Every patient deserves dignity, respect and quality care, regardless of how the bill is settled.
If any hospital staff tries that nonsense in my presence, there will be consequences.

Today is the memorial of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a special title for Mary, honoring her as the patron saint of a beautiful mountain in Israel.
In the 1200s, a group of quiet monks (the Carmelites) lived on Mount Carmel. One of their leaders had a vision of Mary, where she handed him a brown scapular (a type of monk's apron) as a symbol of her protection.
Today, people who honor her wear a tiny version of this brown cloth under their clothes as a personal, physical reminder to pray and live a good life.
