I'm so rusty at in person meetings that almost forgot to advertise @braincomms opportunities to learn how to be a constructive peer reviewer and observing work for a journal. Glad @touteiro let me mention these. Check them out: academic.oup.com/braincomms/… academic.oup.com/braincomms/…

Many in the community to take such a course! Being a reviewer is NOT about finding reasons to reject a paper or a grant, unlike many seem to think. It is about helping the authors achieve stronger and more meaningful studies and conclusions. @TSpiresJones #heatnet21 @ScienceofPD

Today is #WorldParkinsonsDay. The #COVIDー19 crisis, a tremendous challenge we never experienced before. But we cannot forget other major challenges we face - defeating #Parkinsons should continue to be part of our mission as well. Let’s not forget. #COVID19PT #Covid_19

We @OuteiroLab and many around the world are working hard to learn and defeat #Parkinsons. #COVIDー19 #Covid_19 #COVID19 #COVID19PT should not distract us from this goal. We need to pay even more attention. #WorldParkinsonsDay

But here’s the thing: once you’re immune to COVID19, you can go about your business. Immune people can move about & help restore our economy. As number of such people rises, it will also confer "herd immunity" to our population, by blocking viral transmission, helping us all! 31/

Let’s keep the discussion on the science. I have been working on Synuclein for more than 20 years, but we need to be open minded here. Incidental LB disease argues against GOF. I still think we need to design better experiments. And GOF goes well with LOF

This is not about GOF or LOF... patients don’t care about this. The question is: what are the key experiments that might enable us to favor one theory over the other? Can we answer this? This is what the debate should be about, as far as I am concerned.
