We never foresee it coming, Gamer Maker being replaced completely with The Sandbox Studio, whereas the previous one truly represents The Sandbox Game in its voxel world. That voxel art style hook us to join this journey 5 years ago. It was the style that made TSB unique compared to other platforms like steam, Roblox and Minecraft. We thought the next version of it is open source, just it, not completely replaced it. The problem was not the Game Maker software itself, but the unsolved monetization system for builders. The problem was not the quality of games being created, but the lack of platform visibility, its marketing was dependent to hype of the Metaverse and P2E. The problem was not onboarding new builders but retaining them. We saw lots builders coming in, but then the system basically make them discourage to go further. Game Jams are proven effective in inviting new builders, however it is also discouraging every time the results are out. There was a long conversation from the builders and organizers about properly handling this Game Jam long ago and it was proven effective, more friendly and rewarding, but now they replaced the system and back to square one. We loved it when there were 10 places plus up to 10 honorable mentions for the Jam as it rewards more builders, previously it was managed well by @Pandapops7 and judge by @KamiSawZe and the @TheCouncilTech . They should have keep it. Lastly, we wish the Builder's Challenge be back with much better system. Kudos!
