Sinds begin oktober ben ik in Seattle (VS). Ik zal hier blijven tot eind december.
Het verschil in mentaliteit is enorm.
En als je leest wat er nu allemaal in België aan het gebeuren is... Je kan 'de sterkste schouders' niet harder en harder blijven belasten.
Het gevolg? Mensen verhuizen uit België en er komt alleen maar extra druk op de middenklasse.
Het ondernemersklimaat in België is te onzeker. Je kan er niet op bouwen. Het is jammer om te zeggen, maar ik heb deze week een Amerikaanse vennootschap opgericht en zal mijn toekomstige Amerikaanse activiteiten hoogstwaarschijnlijk via deze vennootschap gaan runnen in plaats van via mijn Belgische onderneming.
Je oogst wat je zaait. België is zichzelf en het ondernemersklimaat kapot aan het maken.

De kern van de zaak is dat Vlamingen binnen België onmogelijk een beleid krijgen dat afgestemd is op de Vlaamse realiteit en de democratische keuze die wij maken.
Zolang we aan dat kernprobleem niets doen, gaat ons land verder de dieperik in.
Uiteraard kan dat de Franstaligen weinig schelen. Zij betalen de facturen immers niet van dit wanbeleid, maar dat zijn wij, de Vlamingen. Uiteraard zeggen de Franstaligen onderhandelingstechnisch op voorhand neen tegen elke hervorming. Om de Vlamingen af te schrikken, bang en moedeloos te maken. Maar wie trapt daar eigenlijk in?
Wie federaal bestuurt zonder aan het kernprobleem iets te doen, is medeplichtig aan de verdere ondergang van ons land, aan de verdere fiscale afpersing van de Vlamingen.
Die heeft daar zelf voor gekozen, is daar zelf voor verantwoordelijk en moet daar de rekening door de kiezer van gepresenteerd krijgen. Dat gebeurde met Verhofstadt, Leterme en De Croo. De Wever is de volgende.

De regering-De Wever is alle vertrouwen kwijt bij de gewone man en vrouw in de straat. Wat een beschamend geknoei. Welke Vlaming wordt hier beter van?
Kan een werkend gezin dankzij dit politieke theater zijn gasfactuur betalen? Kan een jonge spaarder eindelijk een huis kopen? Kan een oudere weer veilig de straat op? Nee. De regering-De Wever krijgt haar zaakjes niet op orde, maar vindt wel tijd om voor de eigen achterban de held uit te hangen.
Iedereen verdedigt zijn eigen imago, maar niemand verdedigt de gewone Vlaming. En die gewone Vlaming mag straks opnieuw betalen voor dit hallucinante wanbeleid. Onze mensen verdienen beter.

🇧🇪 Meet Conner Rousseau, president of Belgium’s Flemish socialist party, Vooruit.
His party received just 8.1% of the national vote, yet he has enough political leverage to paralyze our government during one of Belgium’s worst budgetary crises.
Welcome to Belgium, where our political system is completely broken.
For years, he kept his sexuality (he’s gay) private while carefully cultivating his image as a young, good-looking political celebrity to get the votes of young females.
He resigned as party president in 2023 after making racist and sexist remarks that even members of the far-right never make. And somehow, less than a year later, he was back in charge.
He loves luxury, expensive designer clothes and partying on yachts in Ibiza. He has openly admitted that he would love to wear Prada but avoids it because of how people would react.
Meanwhile, he lectures ordinary Belgians about the cost-of-living crisis, tells people to live humbly and buy European goods, and campaigns against American economic dependence.
All while appearing in a €500 sweater from an American luxury brand.
You really cannot make this shit up.
A socialist who loves capitalism’s luxuries, enjoys the lifestyle of the wealthy and then lectures everyone else about inequality and affordability.
The hypocrisy is astonishing.
It must be exhausting to maintain this carefully manufactured political persona every single day and act like someone who he isn’t.
And now, with Belgium desperately needing to get its public finances under control, he is one of the central figures holding up a budget agreement. He wants more taxes and not cut in the expenses. All while Belgium is already the country with the highest taxes in the world and all talent, entrepreneurship and capital is leaving the country.
He thinks you create wealth by taxing the rich, but admits to never read books, so what does he know. Oh, and he just published a book that he definitely did not write himself.
This is the kind of political leadership that has brought Belgium to its knees.
