(could do a version of the same for Kuminga - reasonable people were down on him, and if Finch unearths a winning player, that’s a fun story)
I didn’t watch enough Hornets games to have conviction on LaMelo takes before the season. Liked the trade for what it could mean in theory and so far it looks perfect. But I do like interesting narratives, and this is better if he WAS unserious in the past, no?
I’m guessing Finch will start Ayo because he’s an excessively good and well compensated 6th man. Wouldn’t be shocked however if it’s TJ or even Clark (in a low minutes capacity) for rotational consistency.
Funny subplot that Simmons greatly amplifies today.
"J.J. McCarthy was legitimately good."
"I don't undestand how this didn't work [in Minnesota]."
@BillSimmons praises J.J. McCarthy's performance against the Texans and wonders why Kevin O'Connell wasn't able to get this type of play out of him while in Minnestota.

Like any true showman, LaMelo Ball made a captive audience wait.
Then he delivered his first Minnesota moment.

Do people really need 500 more words to the effect of “this is awesome but I wish Clark would play more”??
(We’ll see.)
Ant would do well to understand that the refs are sometimes going to ignore blatant fouls when it's a 25-point game in the 4th Quarter. People just want to get home, it isn't personal.
