There’s a chance this is a human person expressing an honest opinion, not a bot or troll. These are not ideas you argue with (he says while arguing with 🙄) These are delusions needing (voluntary!!!) medical treatment.

I am so fucking mad. Sorry Mom. But I am. Where are these people coming from that they think politics is picking on vulnerable people rather than picking people up. Find another job. And everyone else who is appalled, speak up. Because otherwise this is what you get.

My father-in-law, a lifelong suburban car owner with no real interest in cycling, became pro-bike lane when his daughter-in-law started cycling to work every day. He shifted on a dime. He cared deeply about making sure she’d be safe out there (that’s me btw). What happened to empathy in this Province? I’m amazed at the total lack of regard for the safety of others. We are not a mean city, but the Province shows no sense of community, respect, or shared responsibility. It’s as if compassion has been lost in the race to prioritize convenience over people. It seems to me as though these Provincial conservatives advocating for ripping up critical infrastructure were raised poorly. You can’t build a thriving society on this level of selfishness.
OK I'm pro bike lane (on the record, I'm a suburban car owner who hates biking & haven't been on a bike since age 12). However: -Everyone has a right to ride a bike -Bikes on sidewalks are dangerous to pedestrians & in downtown Toronto, sidewalks are often too crowded Cont'd

Am shocked. Insane.

Bracing for a razor-thin Saskatchewan Party win. Too many things need to go right for the NDP to pull it off, I fear. But even if they win the Saskatchewan Party, which IS a shambles, could be a byelection loss from losing government. Wacky times.

I wonder if Bezos realizes how much damage he's done to the Post due to a completely unnecessary capitulation to Trump.
NEWS: More than 200,000 subscribers have canceled their digital subscriptions to the Washington Post after the revelation that owner Jeff Bezos blocked an endorsement of VP Harris. That's about 8 percent of WaPo's subscriber base - a staggering sum MORE npr.org/2024/10/28/nx-s1-516…

200K subscribers amounts to ~8% of @washingtonpost's base. Staggering. Reminder: Cancelling is Step 1. Step 2 is investing those funds in media & writers who aren't afraid to speak truth to power. I welcome your support to my human rights newsletter: qasimrashid.com/subscribe

I’m constantly staggered by the anti-Trudeau frenzy. Guy got us through a pandemic and now (thanks also to the NDP) we’ve got pharmacare and soon, dental care. His supporters think Poilievre is a legit alternative? Madness.

Scott Moe will force high school girls to change with boys.
New: Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe says that if they form government after Oct. 28 election, the first order of business is to issue a policy directive around changing rooms in schools. He says “biological males” will not change with “biological females”

One of the biggest functions of blocking is giving women the ability to stop weird men from constantly making them uncomfortable and scared. So of course Elon had to change that.

“Legalize hard drugs?” So stupid and dishonest. I’d say “childish” but even kids know better. So disappointing that Scott Moe and his gang of liars, creeps, crooks and bullies could be returned to government. Sask voters need to step up before they totally wreck the place.

Really hoping @prairiedogmag can run a review of this.
RUMOURS is a "wildly entertaining" apocalyptic comedy. The official movie of the G7 is in theatres Friday.

We’re getting dental care, pharmacare and we still have climate action that doubles as support for most Canadian households despite self-interested oil company BS. It all sounds great to me but then again I’m not a Trudeau-hating asshole.

Worth a watch.
Last week we took in a talk by OG Prairie Dogger, journalism prof and BFF Mitch Diamantopoulos. Mitch shared fascinating facts about newspaper co-operatives storming into the information void vacated by mainstream media. It's on YouTube here! youtu.be/LyvOvUsCMhc?si=5R3r…
