@PEACH_Study1 is an excellent example of using diagnostics to reduce inappropriate antibiotics use during a viral pandemic outbreak @glgamr #eccmid2024 #escmidglobal
Last day of (usual) work before I head to Barcelona tomorrow for @ESCMID. Looking forward to seeing some colleagues and presenting the results of @PEACH_Study1 with @emma_tj1.

It’s the end of #WAAW2023 & we’ve been highlighting work from our infections division at @CTRCardiffUni. #AMR & antimicrobial stewardship needs to be at forefront of our minds. We need better diagnostics, implemented quickly once evidence exists for better patient outcomes.

Tomorrow is #ICTD2023 and a great way to roll into next week when we discuss results of @PEACH_Study1, @BATCH_trial, @PRECISE_study and finalise plans for our first PROTECT stakeholder meeting in Leeds with @CarrolEnitan and @CTRCardiffUni colleagues.

Alongside researchers, public contributors are helping to shape the NIHR-funded @PEACH_Study1. This research is assessing whether a blood test reduced antibiotic use among patients who were hospitalised with #COVID19. Find out more: nihr.ac.uk/documents/case-st…

Following on from International Clinical Trials Day last month, it's lovely to see the @CTRCardiffUni blog from @claire_nollett featuring our @PEACH_Study1 lead #PPI rep's poem. An excellent way to convey research to the public. Well done Margaret. blogs.cardiff.ac.uk/centre-f…

Nice to see these data published. Makes sense PCT non-discriminatory for bacterial co-infection - inflammatory environment in #COVID19 prob sufficient to drive PCT secretion alone. Curious tho if @PEACH_Study1 findings will be concordant.

Excellent blog, Graham! Meaningful patient and public involvement is critical for a project like @PEACH_Study1. Health data can help us to answer so many important research questions. The public view is crucial to ensure an ethical, practical & patient centred approach
