Are you exited to use mathematical models to understand mammalian gene regulation? Join our lab as a PhD student in the #IMPRS-BAC 🎓📉🧬 - Two weeks left to apply!
Do you have experience in mathematical modeling of biological systems? Join the @EddaGSchulz lab & #IMPRS-BAC #gradschool to investigate enhancer-driven regulation of the Xist gene.

Here is a cheat sheet for everyone who is not as familiar with the terms of digital and analog gene regulation as we are after over 10 year of joined group meetings with the Howard group 🧬💻🌱😀 @JohnInnesCentre
check out Gemmas talk at any of the following events💡🧬
Gemsy on tour!🌈
Here are the upcoming scientific events I'll attend:
🚀16/05 (Tomorrow!) Speed Lecture Award #Bionnale @HealthCapitalBB
⚡24/05 EMBO Sys Biology conference @EMBOevents with a short talk
🐀19/06 5th XCI meeting #EMBOxChromosome23 with a short talk
Wish me 🍀
Go and watch @GemmaNoviello wrap 4 years into 3 mins #CasTuner
Thank you very much to our local hosts, all @MarioNicodemi lab members joined our sessions, discussions and showed us their city from the most beautiful side 😍
The last and most important THANK YOU is to Leonie and Marc who initiated the network. We would not be who we are without your impact. We hope we can carry your curiosity, dedication and love for science into the world and inspire many other scientist ♥️
Friday morning was the hardest to get out of bed after our delicous conference dinner the night before…

Ana is our second industy PhD student with @Diagenode. She managed to develop and optimize a protocol for single-cell ncRNAseq! The results are impressive!
The grande finale was given by @iamalexabraham who also recently handed in his thesis and is waiting to defend. His chromstin polymer model gave us new insights into the co-existence of loop-extrusion and phase-separation at the single molecule level to shape chromatin folding.
On Thursday, we spent the whole day stepping out of our comfort zones and working on our soft skills. In the morning, we worked on our presenation and communication skills in an improv theatre session with Thomas from Die Gorillas - Improtheater Berlin ...
Thomas is part of our PEP-NET family since day 1, when we all just got to know each other in Berlin about 4 years ago. We thanked him for all that he thought with awarding him an honorary PEP-NET PhD.

Nacho and his white board is part important of Molina Lab experience <3
Day 3! Another excellent day in Naples at our final PEP-NET conference merging theoretical and experimental epigenetics
@KSneppen gave us the perspective of a mathematical modeler in his summary of problems with epigenetic memory that still remain problematic 📜📝
Todays final speaker was Andrea that is currently finishing her PhD with @Diagenode on different coding algorithms to investigate the non-coding Transcriptome and its application to study germ-layer development
