MOTM: Vernon. A midfield performance that was one for the ages. After having a tough game here last year, Reggi was excellent in midfield today. Running himself to the ground. The link up play between the midfielders was 2nd to none.

Borbely then gets the ball on the right sided corner of the box, with a left footed striker for his hatrick but he rifles it onto the bar. Hamilton also had a thunderous effort from distance but again hit the bar!

The lads were tiring and it was time for some fresh legs. On came Hamilton, Skelton, Overton & Pecak. It wasn’t long before Pecak got himself on the scoresheet with a well taken finish just inside the box.

The opposition then came out sharp and got themselves an early goal to make it 3-1. Game on as they had a few chances in quick succession but Lewis does well to keep them out.

Rocco was then fed in behind the defence with lots of time just inside the box. A powerful shot which the keeper got a hand to but the power behind the shot meant the keeper could not keep it out. 2-0.

An electric start from BGS as we came out the blocks with some high intensity. In under 2 minutes, captains Borbely spots the keeper off his line from 25 yards out and lifts the ball over him to go 1-0 up.

Y10 returned to County Cup Football action this afternoon, travelling to QEGS Horncastle to play on their brand new 4G facility. QEGS are familiar opponents having played them in the quarter finals last year, winning on penalties. We headed to the game thinking it’d be the same

The Y8’s matched physicality with flair, winning 2 and drawing 1 in another competitive tournament. Capps, Harness and Pieterse showed dominance on both sides of the ball, with Bastow-Harrison, Simpson & Dinler readily providing the muscle giving a great platform for the team
