🔹I am deeply honoured to have received an award today from the Transparency Task Force at the House of Commons, Westminster, during the summit “Why We Must Protect the Wellbeing of Whistleblowers,” - held in memory of Simon Andriesz & organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Investment Fraud and Fairer Financial Services. 🔹My sincere thanks to the Transparency Task Force for this recognition and for its tireless commitment to exposing financial wrongdoing, championing whistleblowers & supporting victims. 🔹I wish to dedicate this award to all victims of banking misconduct and financial fraud, whether through the hidden credit line scandal or mortgage overcharging & abuse - to all those who have lost their homes, businesses, livelihoods, health &, tragically, their lives. 🔹To the families left behind, to those still fighting for justice & to the courageous internal bank whistleblowers who have risked everything to expose wrongdoing: this recognition also belongs to you. 🔹Behind every financial scandal are human beings whose suffering is too often overlooked, while those responsible too frequently escape meaningful accountability. 🔹The protection of powerful financial institutions must never take precedence over the protection of innocent people. 🔹It was particularly poignant to receive this recognition at a gathering honouring Simon Andriesz, whose courage & tragic loss remind us why this work matters so profoundly. 🔹May his memory strengthen our collective determination to expose wrongdoing, protect whistleblowers, support victims and secure justice. 🔹For those we have lost. For those still suffering. And for those who refuse to be silenced. 🔹Thank you to all who have supported me through this difficult journey. 🔹Work together; share evidence; harness the power of AI & ensure those who are exposing fraud & misconduct are not facing the repercussions alone. 🔹 Rest in peace Simon. @TransparencyTF @johnmcdonnellMP @Wftproof @stevemiddi1 @WinkSabee @BlowersIreland @kenoflynnTD @JMcGuinnessTD @SamanthaLaDuc @CarshaltonArt @efgbricklayer @JulieCo64621732 @alomohan @premnsikka @celticjulie @AnybodyButBerti @NoelMcgree

"I am tired." That is how I opened my speech today in the UK Parliament at the APPG Summit ‘Why We Must Protect the Wellbeing of Whistleblowers’, dedicated to the memory of @SAndriesz. It was an honour to contribute to this important discussion alongside fellow whistleblowers, campaigners, lawyers and parliamentarians. My thanks to @johnmcdonnellMP, the @appgonifandffs APPG on Investment Fraud and Fairer Financial Services, @TransparencyTF , Andy Agathangelou, and all those who worked so hard to make this event possible. For more than twelve years, I have lived with the consequences of whistleblowing. As a lawyer of whistleblowers, I have also witnessed the impact it has on many others. Behind every whistleblower case is a human being whose health, finances, career and personal life may be profoundly affected. Today I spoke not only for myself, but also for the many whistleblowers whose voices are too often ignored: “[..] A whistleblower is simply someone who discovers wrongdoing and believes that reporting it is part of doing their job. That is where the isolation begins. I worked for ING, the Dutch regulator @AutoriteitFM (AFM), Euroclear, LCH.Clearnet and Euronext, and was a Senior Associate at Hogan Lovells before establishing my own law firm in 2010. In 2014, while working on legal cases, I started reporting evidence of collateral fraud involving margin accounts, hidden credit lines and collateral connected to OTC derivatives to the AFM, the Dutch FCA. At the time, I did not yet know that the irregularities extended far beyond the individual cases. It involved more than EUR 200 billion of collateral shortages within Dutch banks and more than EUR 2 trillion across the European Union. I discovered that pension money was secretly misused to hide and guarantee these bank deficits. What began as litigation became whistleblowing. In 2015, my client succeeded before the Dutch Court of Appeal and, in 2019, before the Dutch Supreme Court. Yet remarkably little changed. While I expected the AFM to take action, the opposite happened. More and more information was requested without this leading anywhere. AFM pointed to the Dutch Central Bank (@DNB_NL) , and nothing was done with my fraud reports. The AFM published its unlawful and misleading position in these cases that banks could use in legal proceedings against their customers. My customers. [..] If Simon's legacy teaches us anything, it is that protecting whistleblowers means protecting people, not just procedures. Rest in Peace, Simon.”

One of the biggest cases on the Covid scam in the Netherlands, yesterday. Not a dicky bird on the Irish mainstream media. Cover ups, just like with the fake banking inquiry in 2015 and the subsequent fake Tracker Mortgage Examination framework. Lovely bunch

THE TRIPLE LOCK 🔹Ireland needs political leadership with vision, integrity and respect for democratic accountability. 🔹Instead, we are witnessing the proposed removal of a safeguard expressly relied upon to secure the electorate’s approval of a constitutional referendum. 🔹Brian Cowen did not merely offer general reassurances about Irish neutrality during the Nice Treaty referendum campaign. 🔹Cowen specifically identified UN authorisation as a safeguard governing Irish participation in EU military operations and relied upon it in making the case for approval of the Treaty. 🔹The Triple Lock was not entrenched in the Constitution, but its safeguards formed part of the assurances given to Irish voters. 🔹Government is nonchalantly trying to reverse a safeguard relied upon to secure referendum approval, without seeking renewed democratic consent. 🔹Nor has it convincingly explained why the operational difficulties identified require wholesale removal rather than a much more narrowly tailored legislative solution. 🔹If UN authorisation was sufficiently important to reassure Irish voters in 2002, why is its removal in 2026 considered insufficiently important to consult them again? 🔹And frankly what is the value of an assurance given during a constitutional referendum if a subsequent Government can simply discard it through ordinary legislation? 🔹 And finally, consider the question from the perspective of an ordinary parent. 🔹How many parents would support the removal of an international safeguard governing overseas military deployments without first demanding unequivocal assurances about the circumstances in which their own children might be sent into conflict? 🔹While Ireland currently has a voluntary Defence Forces system, and removal of the Triple Lock would not itself introduce conscription, parents are entitled to ask what future commitments are being contemplated, who will authorise them and what safeguards will remain? 🔹Surely statesmanship is about recognising when democratic legitimacy demands more than a parliamentary majority? @JMcGuinnessTD @BarryHeneghan2 @SimonHarrisTD @MichealMartinTD @rtenews @SamanthaLaDuc @MaryLouMcDonald
We were promised the Triple Lock would stay when we voted on Nice and Lisbon. Micheál Martin called it the core of our neutrality. Nobody voted to scrap it. Who changed his mind? Not Dublin, not Cork. Cui bono? Not the Irish people. Put it to the people. #TripleLock #Neutrality

🚨 They Planned the 2020 Lockdowns to Secretly Bail Out the Banks With $6 Trillion Without Hyperinflation They didn’t lockdown the world because of a virus. They locked you down because the entire banking system was already on the brink of collapse. In September 2019 the REPO market exploded. Overnight lending rates spiked. Corporate loans and derivatives were quietly failing. There was no cash left in the repo market and in the system even through banks had Treasuries as collateral. The Federal Reserve was staring at a full-blown liquidity crisis that could have taken down major banks. Then, just weeks later, a “once-in-a-century” virus conveniently appears. By early 2020 the Fed starts pulling hundreds of billions out of the REPO market… right as the first cases hit U.S. soil. They shut down the entire economy. Why? Because if people stop spending, stop borrowing, and stop circulating money, the system can suddenly print $6 TRILLION and dump it straight into the banks without causing immediate hyperinflation. The lockdowns were a financial operation. While you were terrified of a virus and watching your business die, the biggest bailout in history was being executed behind closed doors. The timing wasn’t coincidence. The scale wasn’t accident. The narrative wasn’t organic. They needed you scared, isolated, and offline so they could quietly rescue the system that was already breaking in 2019. This wasn’t chaos. This was the plan. The famous City Of London banker @LordBelgrave already warned about how central banks, IMF and BIS have been planning the new monetary order. Oil shock? AI crisis? Cyberattacks? They’re already preparing for the next one.

Simon Andriesz @SAndriesz has died. He took his own life this week, while staying at a trauma treatment centre, the same place he had gone to try to survive what years of fighting had done to him. I wrote the piece below about him at the start of August. We last spoke on 13 August. Reading my own words back now feels different. Heavier. I did not know then that this would be the last chapter. Simon gave me his story directly. The embezzlement he uncovered, the fraud he reported, the heart attacks, the police complaints, the years @TheFCA spent doing almost nothing while his life fell apart around him. He handed the CFTC and HMRC enough to secure real fines. He handed the BBC enough for a full documentary. And still the one regulator that was supposed to protect him let him carry all of it alone for 7 years. He was one of the most credible people I have ever spoken to. Everything he told me checked out. And he still ended up broken by the very system meant to catch people like him when they fell. I am angry writing this. Angry that a man this capable, this thorough, this willing to hand over evidence and testimony for years, was left to fight completely alone until he could not fight anymore. Simon Andriesz deserved better. Rest in peace. If you are struggling right now, please do not go through it alone. Allemaal aangifte doen!

SHAME ON PAULA VENNELLS Paula Vennells cried at the inquiry. Read her emails before you feel sorry for her. Paula Vennells ran the @PostOffice from 2012 to 2019. Its computer system, Horizon, showed money missing from branches when none was missing. More than 900 postmasters were prosecuted between 1999 and 2015. Some went to prison. Families lost homes, savings and reputations. The inquiry @PostOffInquiry says at least 13 people are thought to have taken their own lives because of the scandal. Now look at what was happening at the top. In July 2013 Paula Vennells asked her husband for a less emotional word than bugs. He suggested exception or anomaly. The inquiry's lawyer called it Orwellian. In August 2013 she wrote that the hope of the mediation scheme for postmasters was to avoid or minimise compensation. At the inquiry she agreed it was possibly her hope. After a row with her top lawyer, Susan Crichton, Paula Vennells wrote that Susan Crichton was possibly more loyal to her professional rules and put her integrity as a lawyer above the interests of the business. A lawyer with integrity. Terrible for business. In September 2013 Paula Vennells asked for a Horizon risk reference to be removed from the Royal Mail @RoyalMail share sale prospectus, then told the Post Office chair she had earned her keep. Around the same time postmaster Martin Griffiths attempted suicide. Paula Vennells emailed that such cases usually have several contributory factors. Martin Griffiths died 3 weeks later. Former general counsel Chris Aujard told the inquiry that in November 2013 the executive team favoured ending prosecutions and Paula Vennells interjected that the Post Office should keep taking some. His notes recorded reluctance to stop because prosecutions acted as a deterrent. Prosecutions carried on for another 2 years. In December 2014 a @BBC One Show film showed postmasters fighting to clear their names. Paula Vennells wrote that Jo Hamilton lacked passion and that the rest of the film was hype and human interest. She told colleagues she was more bored than outraged. Jo Hamilton had been accused of stealing £36K. Her conviction was quashed in 2021. In February 2015 Paula Vennells told MPs the Post Office had won every Horizon case in court. In 2024 she admitted that was false and said it was unintentional. In March 2015 she wrote to Post Office minister Jo Swinson that there was no reason to conclude any prosecution was unsafe. Jo Swinson later said the letter misled her. @guardian reported she collected more than £4.5M in pay and bonuses as chief executive. She was given a CBE for services to the Post Office and charity while 555 postmasters were suing the Post Office. She left the Post Office during that court case. From April 2019 she chaired Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (@imperialNHS) for £60K a year. A document shown to the inquiry says the government shareholder asked in 2014 whether she was still the right person to lead, citing lack of knowledge. Lesley Sewell, her former head of IT, told the inquiry that Paula Vennells contacted her 4 times in 2020 and 2021, hoping preparation might help avoid an independent inquiry. Lesley Sewell blocked her number. In January 2024 Dame Moya Greene, former Royal Mail chief executive, told Paula Vennells she thought she knew and could no longer support her. Paula Vennells denied it. Then came May 2024. 3 days at the public inquiry. 775 page witness statement. 7 months to prepare it. Tears. Apologies. She said she had been too trusting. She said information had been kept from her. She named 5 former executives as having let her down. She apologised to Jo Hamilton for being rude in her email. The inquiry lawyer asked if she was the unluckiest CEO in the UK. Unlucky.. is one word for it. There is another way to look at the record. A CEO who wrote that mediation was meant to avoid or minimise compensation. A CEO who told MPs something she later admitted was false. A CEO who wrote to a minister that she saw no reason to conclude any prosecution was unsafe. A CEO who collected a reported £4.5M while postmasters lost everything. A CEO who later told the inquiry she had been too trusting. More than 1.2M people signed a petition for her to lose the CBE. The King forfeited it on 23 February 2024. As far as I can find, nobody at the top has been charged and nobody has reported her repaying a bonus. The final inquiry report is not out yet. Police are still investigating. Jo Hamilton, the woman Paula Vennells wrote off as lacking passion, said afterwards she is in two minds on whether the apology was genuine or came from being so publicly ashamed. The emails are public. Read them. Then decide who in this story deserves your sympathy. Share this. Postmasters were ignored for years while the people above them were paid, decorated and given new jobs. Sources @itvnews @DailyMail @ComputerWeekly @Independent @PostOffInquiry

The Anglo accounts - in 2008 regarding interbank funding The 2008 balance sheet shows another substantial movement: Deposits from banks, 2007 €7.6bn Deposits from banks, 2008 €20.5bn That represents an increase of approximately €12.85 billion, or 169%, in a single year, a year in which banks had already started unlawfully increasing net interest margin by forcing customers to absorb their losses. Why would banks be generally depositing funds with Anglo in 2008? Do these represent funds from other Anglo branches?

“to see whether we could have done things better and learn for the future. “ Joke?
Our condolences go out to the family and friends of whistleblower Simon Andriesz, following the incredibly sad news of his passing. We've asked non-executive director Lea Paterson to review how we interacted with Mr Andriesz, to see whether we could have done things better and learn for the future. It's important that people feel confident coming to us with their concerns and we’re grateful so many do. Read more fca.org.uk/news/blogs/lookin…

@PieterOmtzigt stelde daar vergeefs Kamervragen over.

You should enquire how many AGs, civil servants, solicitors, barristers and judges have opined on VAT fraud in our agricultural sector - it was / is ongoing but is apparently not a matter that is in the public interest - all designed by @kpmg to favour “cronies and vested interests”. Millions of euros between time spent & “professional fees” - most definitely a misnomer in these sorry events. And all these individuals are funded by the same taxpayers, who are being defrauded. You gotta try this some time? Reliably informed that @talktoBOI is on notice that debt is being serviced from their customers obtaining proceeds from a fraudulent VAT scheme This is notice that @talktoBOI has loan repayments that are coming from a tax fraud funded, in the end, by the same taxpayers who then pay the professional fees to barristers who claim it doesn’t matter and the salary of a judge who says (in best D4 accent) that this is not in the public interest. All legals will baulk at their integrity being questioned, as indeed Senan Allen did. A bank that is on notice and keeps taking the proceeds of a fraudulent scheme is not in the same position as a lender who simply has a farmer customer @alomohan Taking those repayments, applying them to the loan, and treating the facility as clean credit is dealing with property the bank has been told is tainted. Enquire how that notice of VAT fraud proceeds was handled internally — credit, legal, internal audit and AML — and whether the repayments can still be booked as ordinary debt service. Where / who are the external auditors? Wait! @KPMG_Ireland - the Big4 who designed the scheme back in the day. I wonder when it will own up to it and confirm the motivations. Or will this be another tale for @claudinecassar ? As I have been saying, we are not serious country when Revenue, a pillar bank and Legals & judges work together to whitewash such schemes. @NiamhParker4 Maybe some professional of integrity out in the @kpmg world might see another brewing scandal before the documentary comes out. Gezamelijke fondsen beheerd vanuit Brussel. Chantagepolitiek, en moeten we nooit meer doen.

UPDATE ON IRELAND’s JUDICIAL RESCUE SERVICE 🔹Since posting the thread yesterday, I have now received further reliable information regarding the same case, which raises another serious question about the accuracy of the published judgment. 🔹The claimant’s pleaded case described the original lending as multiple separate facilities, subsequently restructured, with the claim being advanced on the later restructuring documentation. 🔹However, I am reliably informed that during the hearing an earlier loan contract was actually opened to the Court which appears to show something materially different: just a single loan facility, rather than the multiple facilities described in the pleaded claim. 🔹The borrower expressly drew this discrepancy to the Court’s attention in rebuttal. 🔹Yet the published judgment apparently repeats the claimant’s description of the original lending as comprising multiple facilities, without addressing the earlier loan contract or explaining how these fundamentally different descriptions can be reconciled. 🔹This goes directly to the identification of the debt being pursued. 🔹The claimant needs to answer: 🔹If the contemporaneous loan agreement records one facility, what is the documentary basis for the claimant pleading multiple original facilities? 🔹The claimant also needs to explain: 🔹How does the single facility evidenced by the loan contract become the multiple facilities said to have been subsequently restructured? 🔹The judgment raises a different question for the Court: 🔹Why does the published account apparently repeat the claimant’s description of multiple facilities after a contradictory loan contract had been opened in court and the borrower had expressly drawn the discrepancy to the judge’s attention? 🔹And there is an even more fundamental question which the plenary proceedings must now answer: 🔹What, precisely, was the original debt? 🔹Before anyone can establish that an existing debt was subsequently restructured, assigned and ultimately became enforceable by another entity, - surely the starting point must be a coherent documentary identification of that original debt? 🔹The case is proceeding to a full plenary hearing, so the underlying liability remains to be determined. 🔹But that makes accuracy about what was pleaded, what was produced in evidence and what the underlying contract actually records more important, not less. 🔹And finally there is a larger question for the wider Irish legal and judicial establishment: 🔹Who out there is going to call this out? 🔹Our AG, our Minister for Justice, our Chief Justice? 🔹There comes a point when repeated discrepancies of this kind risk doing profound damage to public confidence in the administration of justice. 🔹The perception that something is badly wrong is no longer confined to lawyers or individual litigants. 🔹To quote the AG on “Anglo/Quinn” - the dogs in the street know there is a problem. 🔹Our courts risk becoming a laughing stock if obvious documentary contradictions are not confronted openly and rigorously and claimants can pursue invalid debts. 🔹This is where judges of integrity matter. 🔹The judiciary has the greatest interest in ensuring that judgments accurately reflect the evidence actually placed before the Court and that banks, credit servicers and ordinary citizens are held to the same evidential standards. 🔹Judges who care about the integrity and reputation of the Irish courts need to step up — and pronto. 🔹Because silence in the face of obvious documentary discrepancies protects neither the judiciary nor the administration of justice. 🔹The documentary record must govern. 🔹And this “judicial rescue service” being afforded to banks, vultures and credit servicers must immediately end. This is an important post to share widely. @Wftproof @ucddublin @ucdpolitics @tcddublin @KingsInns @LSRAIreland @lawsocgazette @LawSociety_NI @lawsocietyire @TheBarofNI @BarofIrelandVAS
