Most flood insurance policies take 30 days to take effect. 75% of Houston homes flooded by Harvey in 2017 were located outside the 100-year flood plain. Talk to an agent today!
South-central Texas faces great risk of inland flooding from tropical systems. More than 60% of U.S. hurricane-related deaths occurred in inland counties, with more than half of those deaths related to freshwater flooding.
ALT Inland flooding is the leading cause of fatalities from tropical cyclones in south-central Texas.
ALT It doesn't take a major hurricane to cause relatively major impacts to an area. Even relatively weak tropical systems can produce vast amounts of rainfall well inland from the coast, leading to devastating flooding.
