Glimpses of the Inaugural Ceremony The inaugural ceremony of the Short-Term Programme / Faculty Development Programme on “Transforming Education through IKS, AI, Cybersecurity and Sustainability: NEP 2020 Vision” was held at the University of Ladakh, Leh, organized by the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (UGC-MMTTC), Central University of Gujarat, in academic collaboration with the University of Ladakh. The occasion was graced by Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh, along with Prof. Atanu Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor (I/c), Central University of Gujarat; Prof. H. B. Patel, Registrar (Offg.) and Director, UGC-MMTTC; Prof. Sanjay Jha, Finance Officer (Offg.); Prof. Bhawana Pathak, Course Coordinator; and Ms. Isha Panchal, Project Assistant, UGC-MMTTC. Faculty members of the University of Ladakh were also present on the occasion, adding to the academic spirit and collaborative significance of the event. The inaugural session marked the commencement of an enriching academic journey dedicated to exploring the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, and Sustainability into higher education, in alignment with the transformative vision of NEP 2020. The programme seeks to promote academic collaboration, innovative pedagogical practices, and meaningful discussions on emerging trends and challenges in higher education.

International Open Access Week 2026 | Theme: The Cost of Knowledge On the occasion of International Open Access Week, a global initiative promoting free, equitable, and unrestricted access to scholarly knowledge and research for everyone, the School of Library and Information Science organized an online webinar on “The Cost of Knowledge” on 23 October 2026, from 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Dr. Amit Kumar, Dean and HoD, SLIS, inaugurated the programme and warmly welcomed the distinguished resource persons and participants. The programme was organized by all faculty members, including Dr. Bhakti Gala, Dr. Minaxi Parmar, and Dr. Ashwani Kumar, who provided support and coordination as members of the organizing committee. A total of 524 national and international participants registered for and actively participated in the webinar. The webinar featured renowned speakers, including Dr. B. K. Singh, Librarian, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj; Dr. S. K. Pandey, Librarian, Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi; Dr. B. K. Mishra, Librarian, DDU Gorakhpur University; Dr. P. K. Singh, Librarian and HoD, Central University of South Bihar, Gaya; Dr. Lalitha Poluru, Librarian, National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad; Prof. Bhaskar Mukherjee, Department of Library and Information Science, Banaras Hindu University; and Prof. Shilpi Verma, Dean, SIST, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. The speakers discussed knowledge equity, paywalls, financial, legal and technical barriers to Open Access, scholarly publishing models, the history of the Open Access movement, article processing charges (APCs), and rising subscription costs. Assistant Professor Dr. Avinash Singh delivered the vote of thanks, while research scholars of the School of Library and Information Science moderated the programme. The webinar highlighted the importance of promoting equitable, affordable, and accessible scholarly communication.

बड़ौदा के साहित्यिक मंच ‘साहित्यसमीपे’ द्वारा आयोजित १८६वीं साहित्यिक गोष्ठी में गुजराती अध्ययन विभाग के प्राध्यापक डॉ. दीपक भा. भट्टने वर्ष २०२६ के साहित्य के नोबेल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित कनाडाई साहित्यकार ऐन कार्सन (Anne Carson)के सर्जन-विधा एवं साहित्यिक अवदान पर व्याख्यान प्रस्तुत किया। व्याख्यान में डॉ.दीपक भा भट्ट ने ऐन कार्सन की बहुआयामी सर्जनशीलता, शास्त्रीय यूनानी साहित्य के उनके गहन अध्ययन तथा कविता, निबंध, अनुवाद और आलोचना के क्षेत्र में किए गए अभिनव प्रयोगों का विवेचन किया।

The School of Environment and Sustainable Development (SESD) organize an online Lecture on "Water Quality analysis " by Dr. Shamshad Ahmad, District Water testing laboratory, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam, Bahraich on 14th October 2026. The session focused on the importance of water quality assessment and testing in ensuring access to safe and clean drinking water. Dr. Ahmad highlighted the importance of water quality testing and monitoring. He emphasized the need for safe drinking water to protect public health. The session also focused on water contamination and sustainable water resource management. The lecture enhanced awareness about the significance of water quality analysis in environmental protection
