Covid-19 had a huge human cost. To prevent this in future, we must tackle the lack of communication and information sharing between central government and those on the ground when dealing with local outbreaks, writes @felly500 @ADPHUK bmj.com/content/386/bmj.q181…

I am immensely proud that the NHS I work in is one of the most multi-ethnic and diverse organisations in the world. NHS colleagues and emergency workers from many countries and faiths work around the clock to serve every UK community. You have my utmost appreciation and respect.
I’m proud that people from nearly 200 countries work in our NHS. I completely condemn this racist violence and stand with our staff and the communities they live and work in. Thank you to our emergency services who are working hard to keep everyone safe.

A decade of clinical leadership on prevention has passed quickly! @DrRichardPile signing out with a flourish: the case for investing in prevention at scale has been repeatedly landed “ so put your money where your mouth is & invest in doing things differently” 💪👏👏👏 👇
Today's my last day as a clinical lead for @HWEICB. Over 10 years spent working for ICS and CCG. Proud of the work we've done as a #lifestylemedicine team and the legacy we leave with the Living Well Course, inspiring and training others to spread the word and support their patients. My team and I are sad to leave with work still to do but excited to work with others that have the vision and courage to develop this further. My message to @NHSEngland and ICS's across the country: if you don't recognise and resource #Prevention (and lifestyle medicine), whilst it may be everyone's job, it becomes no one's priority. As anyone who's ever seen a business case presented, "doing nothing" is always the first option. It's also pretty much always the worst one. Please don't settle for this. Do something. Everyone says prevention is better than cure. So put your money where your mouth is and invest in doing things differently. The alternative is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result...which we all know is madness. @jimmcmanusph @PSimey @hertscc #Wellbeing #NHS

16 new Champions ready to make the difference! Great to hear from them on why they’ve joined this programme - some were inspired by the support they’d received from other Champions, all simply looking to help their communities - thank you!
Parents and carers received certificates for completing their Families for Life Community Champions volunteer training @rhylprimary This means they're able to help other families to improve their health & wellbeing by signposting them to services and support 👏🏽

We are seeing the consequences of already ⬇️ 💉rates with outbreaks of eg measles. ✂️ could mean a further decline, likely to impact the most disadvantaged communities most, exacerbating the already ⬇️coverage. Result = ⬆️people ill with preventable or detectable diseases.
In the midst of a measles and whooping cough outbreak, @NHSEngland has cut almost £50m from its vaccinations and disease screening budget to fill its spending blackhole. In the Sunday Times print edition:

Thank you so much, Mr Mayor, for extending free school meals across London for another year. Now every child in the city, whatever their circumstances, will have access to nutritious food, helping them to thrive. It takes real courage to stand alone and blaze a trail, and Sadiq's bold, brilliant move should be a wake-up call for anyone who is committed to a brighter, healthier future for our kids. This needs to be rolled out across the country. Let's make that happen.
Important free school meals update 📢 Delivering free school meals has been my proudest moment as Mayor. I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be extending this lifeline for another academic year—saving families up to £1,000 per child over two years. Spread the word ⬇️
