Hot off the press from @DanielWANoble lab: Our new General and Comparative Endocrinology paper shows that sex-reversed female bearded dragons (ZZf) have circulating T & E₂ levels indistinguishable from normal females (ZWf), and their egg yolks carry the same steroid loads.

I'm opening a K-12 learning centre in Canberra! We'll offer after-school courses in STEM, digital art, public speaking, and maths & English tutoring. It's been my dream to contribute to children's education, and I'm excited to open in just a month. ivlearning.au 🧵1/3

New paper in @Nature led by @PatriceEcoEvo! We demonstrated global vulnerability of amphibians to warming, threatening 10% of >5,000 species examined. How did we do it? | nature.com/articles/s41586-0… | See thread🧵
This paper is finally out! @DanielWANoble @thekriswild

Our findings highlight the resilience of behavioural flexibility in these lizards. This suggests that, at least for these species, early environmental stressors might not limit their ability to adapt to new conditions. What does this mean for other species?

As the world gets warmer, it’s stressing out animals like skinks which rely on the temperature around them to control their body temperature. Now, Crino & co show that this stress can also have lifelong affects on the skinks’ children

Last week I was lucky enough to give a talk about my PhD work at #ISBE2024. Thanks to my wonderful collaborators @DanielWANoble, @zaphiloszo, @thekriswild, Ondi Crino, and Dalton Leibold

Preprint is out "Maximum movement performance, not activity levels or thermoregulatory indices, affects survival in a free-ranging ectotherm". We address relationships between environmental temps, thermoregulatory behaviour, laboratory metrics & survival in ectotherms in situ.

"From eggs to adulthood: sustained effects of early developmental temperature and corticosterone exposure on physiology and body size in an Australian lizard"
doi.org/10.32942/X25W38

ALT Body mass at hatching (A), the juvenile period (B), and adulthood (C) in lizards exposed to incubation treatments (left panels) and prenatal corticosterone treatments (right panels). Significant differences (p < 0.05) from main effects of incubation temperature and post hoc tests for differences between corticosterone treatments are indicated by different letters and sample sizes (n) for each treatment are indicated above.

It is finally out!! Continuing our work from my master's, now in collaboration with the amazing @shannonbuttimer 🎃🐸
🌍Continental-scale shifts in rainfall patterns due to land use could indeed lead to microbiome-scale dysbiosis and disease in endemic tropical amphibians in natural forests. Kudos to @shannonbuttimer and Diego @LaHNAB_UNICAMP for leading! doi.org/10.1111/ele.14372, @PennStateBio
