Talofa! Vaiaso o te Gana Tuvalu – Tuvalu Language Week is here!
This year, the community have chosen the theme of: "Taofi mau ki tau ‘gana, mo tou gaugaleo, me ko tou iloga tena", which means "uphold your language and dialect, for it is your identity"
Please join us for Yvonne Underhill-Sem’s inaugural lecture, reflecting on 3 decades of working w/ the dynamic tensions between gender, culture, & development in the climate-changed Pacific, w/ a particular focus on what happens when practices of respect & care are disregarded /1
Her niece, Melia, is a significant inspiration behind her work, whose short life motivated Yvonne’s research, teaching, & governance.
Register for the lecture 3 Oct, from 5pm in the Fale. This event will be recorded & video will be available online once edited.
