Pakistan Rejects Baseless Allegations by the Afghan Taliban Regime, Reaffirms Right to Self-Defence Against Terrorism :@ForeignOfficePk Pakistan categorically rejects the baseless and unsubstantiated allegations regarding civilian casualties attributed to its counter-terrorism operations. Disinformation and misleading narratives will neither obscure the threat posed by terrorist networks operating from Afghan territory nor absolve the Afghan Taliban regime of its responsibility to prevent Afghan soil from being used to plan and launch attacks against Pakistan. These attacks have resulted in more than 3,500 casualties in 2026 alone. As has been regularly reported by the relevant UN mechanisms, including the Monitoring Team, and which has been a cause of serious concern for the international community, the Taliban regime continues to shelter with impunity large number of terrorist organizations, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)/ Fitna al Khawarij, Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA)/ Fitna al Hindustan, and their affiliates, which continue to pose a serious threat to the peace and stability of the region and beyond. Thousands of Pakistani civilians have been martyred because of terrorist attacks which have been planned, financed, supported and carried out from Afghan soil, all under the watch, patronage and active facilitation of the Afghan Taliban regime. No responsible state can remain passive when its civilians and security forces are repeatedly targeted. Any actions by Pakistan in response to such terrorist attacks have been undertaken in exercise of its right to self-defense, under principles of necessity and as a measure of last resort, and directed only and exclusively against terrorists and their logistical support bases in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s response was proportionate to the level of threat, while strictly adhering to the principle of distinction and precaution. The scale and scope of the action reflected restraint, particularly in light of the severity and frequency of terrorist attacks faced by Pakistan. Pakistan rejects any insinuations otherwise. Pakistan urges the international community to hold the Taliban regime accountable for its failure to uphold its obligations under relevant UN Security Council Resolutions and other related commitments to prevent Afghan soil from being used as a launchpad for terrorism. The Afghan Taliban are stockpiling small arms and ammunition beneath hospitals and schools and in residential areas for use by the terrorists groups such as the TTP and BLA. By placing weapons in civilian infrastructure, they risk endangering lives and exploiting civilian casualties to portray future Pakistani intelligence-based counterterrorism operations as attacks on civilians. This dangerous tactic raises serious concerns about the potential use of civilians as human shields to protect terrorist networks and manipulate public perception.

Pakistani state will continue to defend its territorial integrity and protect lives and properties of its citizens against any externally sponsored, sheltered and abetted threat by terrorist proxies. Pakistan's counter terrorism operations are conducted in response to the terrorist attacks being perpetrated from the Afghan soil. These operations are precise, intelligence-based and defensive in nature. Pakistan's actions are in exercise of its right to self-defence, to ensure the safety and security of its citizens. These actions are directed solely against the terrorist outfits based in Afghanistan that pose a threat to the region and beyond. Pakistan has been, and will continue to take all appropriate measures to uphold the safety and security of its citizen in accordance with international law, and based on the principles of necessity and as a measure of last resort. All measures taken by Pakistan constitute legitimate defensive actions against sanctuaries and bases used for planning, training and launching terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.

No more talks with the Afghan Taliban terrorists or their proxies, who are responsible for the deaths of thousands of Pakistanis. Pakistan has exhausted all possible forums. At the intelligence level, Pakistan shared more than 200 intelligence notes with the Afghan regime. At the border, local commanders held more than 200 flag meetings. Diplomatically, Pakistan issued more than 800 protest notes and summoned the Afghan Taliban ambassador more than 170 times. The Joint Coordination Committee, a high-level civil-military forum, met 10 times. At the leadership level, there were five visits involving the foreign, defence and interior ministers, along with visits by ulema and civil society representatives. Friendly states also intervened. China did so three times, while Qatar and Türkiye also tried, but to no effect. But what did Pakistan get in return? Five years into the Taliban rule, Pakistan faces the most serious security threat. Over the last three years alone, more than 4,700 innocent Pakistanis have lost their lives to terrorism emanating from Afghanistan. No country would tolerate such a situation The worst betrayal came during Pakistan's 4-day war with India in May 2025. Afghanistan sent a more than 60 members TTP tashkeel, including the son of a Taliban official, to attack from the western front, stabbing Pakistan in the back while it was fighting its eastern enemy. Pakistan desires peace and stability in the region and has remained patiently engaged in political and diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing the menace of terrorism emanating from Afghan soil. However, it is unfortunate that Pakistan's numerous goodwill gestures and highly responsible approach were misconstrued, resulting in increased terrorist attacks from Afghan soil, with the active support and backing of the Taliban Regime. Operation Rad Ul Fitna 3 | Qilla Saifullah Balochistan | 24 October 2026 An intelligence based operation was conducted by Pakistani Security Forces to apprehend a first tier Fitna al Khawarij commander Adil Shah alias Dawaish, from Killi Nasai Qilla Saifullah. Darwaish was active in Sherani, Zhob and Qilla Saifullah. He was involved in multiple terrorist activities. In a successful operation, Adil Shah alias Darwaish was intercepted by Pakistani security forces in Zhob area. During intense fire fight the Kharji met his fate and was eliminated.

A teenager who was 16 when he was arrested at Heathrow🇬🇧 Airport has been jailed after being convicted of providing cyber-security support to groups including al-Qaeda and TTP in Afghanistan🇦🇫. Yusuf Shah, from Ilford, was also found to have downloaded documents including instructions on how to make explosives and how to use different types of weapons. At one point, the teenager advised members of the group on how to use an untraceable cryptocurrency to make a donation to al-Qaeda. In March 2024, Shah was approached by an individual on the Telegram app to help produce a guide to cyber-security for TTP terrorists. The individual said a senior official within TTP had asked him for this.
