GEELY has officially introduced the following models in Pakistan

Luxeed, a premium Chinese EV brand developed by Chery and Huawei, is preparing to enter Pakistan following a strategic agreement with Nishat Group. The brand currently offers four models: the S7 electric sedan, R7 coupe-SUV, V9 luxury MPV, and RX premium SUV, featuring advanced EV technology and Huawei-powered intelligent driving systems. However, no models, prices, or launch dates have been confirmed for Pakistan yet.

Pakistan may soon allow the commercial import of used vehicles manufactured from 2016 onwards, according to industry sources. Under the reported proposal, importers would need to be registered companies with valid NTN and sales tax registration, arrange imports through official banking channels, and have agreements with registered workshops for after-sales support. Imported vehicles would also need to meet Euro 6 emission standards. However, these changes are not yet officially confirmed, and a formal government notification is still awaited.

Lahore Traffic Police have announced stricter action against serious traffic violations, with offenders now facing FIRs instead of just traffic challans. Violations include wrong-way driving, overspeeding, reckless driving, drifting, zigzag driving, use of unauthorized police lights, fake or altered number plates, and blocking roads. Under the new directive, drivers involved in these violations may face criminal proceedings in addition to fines.

The Punjab government has ordered a crackdown on the unauthorized use of official flags on vehicles and police escorts across the province. Under the new directive, only legally entitled individuals can display official flags on their vehicles. Permanent police escorts for ministers, government officials, MPAs, and private individuals will also be withdrawn unless properly authorized. Punjab Police has been instructed to review existing security deployments and ensure compliance with the new restrictions.

Pakistan’s proposed Auto Policy 2026–31 faces another delay as the Ministries of Commerce and Industries remain divided over import duties on locally assembled vehicles, auto parts, and New Energy Vehicles (NEVs). The disagreement centers on how much tax should be charged on imported vehicle parts and how the proposed rates would affect local manufacturers. After several meetings failed to resolve the issue, the matter is expected to be taken to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for a final decision. The policy is still in draft form, and the proposed tariff changes are not yet implemented.
