Last night, I had the pleasure of watching nine Korean short animation films. They were amazing—each film captured a different aspect of how humans make connections with friends, society, history & family. Thank you @PakistaniPepper for inviting me 🙏🏼

This is horrible, concerning, and a violation of international and Pakistani law…and this is following the governing political party moving to ban the former governing party without due process. My heart is with those who were injured and the families of the people killed 💔
🇵🇰Pakistan: Firing by officers on peaceful protestors in Bannu today resulting in the death and injury of several protestors, is a violation of their rights to peaceful assembly under international human rights law and Pakistan’s own Constitution. The use of lethal force at a peaceful rally advocating for peace is unlawful and is at odds with the UN Basic Principles on the Use of Force and Firearms by Law Enforcement Officials. Further, restrictions on mobile internet services in Bannu curtail the people's ability to mobilise, increase the spread of misinformation during emergencies, and create panic. The Government of Pakistan has repeatedly failed to promote and facilitate peaceful assembly, and to ensure the safety of protestors. @amnesty urges the government to promptly investigate and hold to account officials responsible for the attack. We also urge the Pakistani government to issue strict directives in line with the UN Basic Principles on the use of weapons.

My biggest regret is not having ProzD voice Rex Raptor when his voice changed tbh
I'm honestly amazed ProZD and LittleKuriboh never worked together--would have loved to see a skit involving them both parodying the things they love.

Netflix is despicable. If there’s even an ounce of dignity and ethics in that damned company’s name, they should pay Hwang Dong-hyuk a large percentage. Without writers, you will not have a production. #SquidGame
“Squid Game” increased the value of Netflix by an estimated $900 million. It also made South Korean writer and director Hwang Dong-hyuk famous — but not rich. In his contract, he had forfeited all intellectual property rights and received no residuals. latimes.com/world-nation/sto…

So much fan knowledge and fandom history disappeared as well! Which is also ironic given Dramafever’s somewhat fraught beginnings. I think the moral of the story is that Warner Bros is the villain tho (and continues to be, look at WB-Discovery today). -A
In my early days with Dramafever, I did an article that was all about Indian movies that were inspired by Korean films. It took SO much research but I'd found a small, dedicated group of Indian fans who were writing about both. So many dreams disappeared when Dramafever died.🥲

Our Paroma was interviewed by @BBC about the rise of K-dramas in India, and what they have in common—and don’t—with Hindi cinema/Bollywood. Read the very smart things she and our friend @supriyan had to say: bbc.com/news/world-asia-indi…

For @nytimes I'm looking to speak to people who have gotten "skin botox" (or mesobotox) done in South Korea. "Skin botox" is microdoses of botox into the upper dermis to tighten pores for the "glass skin" look. (Not Botox to prevent wrinkles) DMs open. Pls share/RT widely.

Also, keep in mind that "1% of players" when you have 1M players is 10 000 people. Even if it was a smaller number, disabled players are not "edge cases", they're humans and their issues are worth solving.
I don't know where this started but I'm constantly seeing the comment "why add accessibility for 1% of gamers?" I get so mad seeing that it makes me want to throw things. It's also sad because they don't realize they could be disabled at any moment and only then they'd care.

Hey, I say this with much gentleness, let's stop quote tweeting (and therefore amplifying) horrible takes. It's important to refute false information & call out bigotry and harmful behavior. Let's just make sure we're not helping to create a larger platform for those voices.

I just turned down 2 "dream jobs" because I could tell that there was crunch involved. The red flags were everywhere. No job is worth your health. If you have other options, leave any job that celebrates crunch. Leave them them no other choice but to abandon crunch altogether.
