Imagine if farmers had the option of being paid to rewild their land, just as they are to produce a few lamb chops (for eg), allowing immensely rich natural habitats like rainforest to return. Imagine if the land was actually helping to *reverse* ecological + climate breakdown.

This week: — Missouri Republicans passed a new rule banning women lawmakers from showing their arms —Alabama’s Republican Attorney General said women can be jailed for abortion pills —Oklahoma Republicans intro’d a bill to jail women for abortions But gas stoves.

Trash pickup day 1,267. This was an 80 minute pickup.#EarthCleanUp I don't like talking about climate change in my cleanup videos, but I am forced yet again. This has gotten both ridiculous and now outright dangerous. It must stop. Cult mentality is near impossible to overcome.

Trump has already sold out all 45,000 of his $99 digital trading cards. The same people screaming about “inflation” and “gas prices” just paid $99 for a single JPEG image.

Around 1 million species now face extinction, many within the next few decades. We are facing multiple crises at the same time. There is no time to waste. Time to protect nature and ourselves. #ActOnClimate #climate #biodiversity #nature #rewilding #cop15

We’ve been conditioned to consume at levels that should make us nauseous. #Degrowth isn’t about ‘giving stuff up’, it’s about a society coming to its senses.

The climate crisis is the single greatest issue facing humankind today. Our civilization is unsustainable. Are we going to sit back and wait for the clock to run out? Or are we going to take this issue head on? We're lucky to even have that choice. Let's make the right one.

I had a guy friend with a Ph.D in engineering ask me last week how women pee with a tampon in and this is why men shouldn’t be passing laws about women’s bodies.

Tiny urban forests can help #rewild urban settings and help fight #climatechange. The brainchild of the Japanese botanist Miyawaki is taking his idea global. We have so many solutions. Let's stop the delays and implement them. #ActOnClimate #climate #forests #nature

Germany 🇩🇪 has some of most environmentally friendly trains in the world. They are powered by hydrogen and oxygen. The only waste they produce is water. We have the solutions. Time to ditch fossil fuels & implement them. #ActOnClimate #climateemergency #climate #GreenNewDeal

Conservatives on Reddit can't figure out why the GOP voted against contraception
r/Conservative Why vote against HR 8373? (Birth Control Bill) Okay, my ignorance is showing. I'm looking at HR 8373 and having a difficult time reading it because all I hear in my head is Nancy Pelosi's shrill voice as if she were reading the dang thing. https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/8373/text?r=1&s=1 Why would anyone vote against the bill? I've been a conservative my entire life, and even I would support something that ensure that a contraceptive was available to anyone who wanted "actual" family planning services. Are people concerned that Abortions would be considered contraceptives? Is it a gateway drung kind of situation? I've got to be missing something here. Insight and thoughts?

Replies from conservatives: Birth control has literally prevented more abortions than any other entity hands down. It also prevents a lot of STDs. Maybe that is the reason?

Replies from conservatives: Same here OP, I assumed it had a bunch of unrelated crap thrown in, so I read it and do not see anything objectionable. A 100% no vote by Rs is idiotic. I appreciate the answers given and the time spent to provide detailed information. Some of which I wasn't aware of. Kudos to this sub in general for adult respectful conversations/debates.

Replies from conservatives: It's not even a "government will pay" bill. Who is voting against this? I really want to know. I will be watching my Republican congressman regarding this. My mother and I are conservative and fully support it. We believe birth control prevents abortions. It’s a good thing 👍
