Yep, very much, which I guess makes it more important to get your music in front of people who at least might appreciate that style. But I don't like this whole business / hustle culture on the internet, so I know I'd hate something like submithub

I'm in the same boat. I'm terrible at promotion, and what has worked for me in the past (a little - youtube channels, for example) isn't at the moment. I'm suspicious of anything *intended* for promotion, though!

I guessed it had to be like that. "grok" carries the meaning of "understand" (maybe like "clock" something?) to me. I think that actually is what they meant, but equally, it could just be that guy with the ego trying to sound cool

It has that slightly ambiguous "is it a tree / the apocalypse" vibe to me.

I tend to hate my stuff, and then not release it, because it feels impolite to waste people's time listening to it. So I should probably follow your advice :D

It is intended for a single listening session, which might be why I am seeing people skip past all the tracks with long sound effect only intros..
