SHOT+ measures how much better or worse a player shot than expected, given the shots he took and how closely they were defended.

Steph Curry vs LeBron James Matchup RAPM.
This stat measures two players' actual impact in the games they've played against each other using the same method as season level RAPM metrics, like XPM.
I just released a new website for brand new, top quality NBA metrics from 1980 to today. Take a look if you're into that.
I am very excited to introduce EPOCH Basketball, my own brand new NBA stats website! This site provides top tier advanced stats from 1980 to today, using REAL POSSESSION-LEVEL RAPM back to 1985 to inform its impact metrics for every season.
It also has high quality single-game metrics like xPTS (the best single game value metric available), which measures the points a player added to the margin in a single game, along with Win Probability Added, and Shot Quality (based on tracking data back to 1997).
The site also predicts every game of the 2026-27 season. Players get projected box scores for each game, and a simulation of the rest of the season, updated every night, gives every team’s projected record, playoff odds and title odds. In past seasons, our pre-game win probabilities have beaten tied both ESPN and the Vegas closing line.
Each metric has been thoroughly validated against every other top-tier metric, from EPM and DARKO to xRAPM. If you think you would be interested in that, this thread will explain what each stat measures and show how it compares with the best public metrics. The full test results are on the website. (1/?)

Every one of my metric is tested fairly on things none of them were fitted to, and the site says where another metric does better. (9/9)

Team pages are available, displaying rosters with each player’s rating on that team, schedules with links to every game, and projected team Daily XPM. (8/?)

Head-to-Head MATCHUP RAPM is perhaps the most innovative stat on EPOCH. It measures two players’ real possession-level impact in the games they faced each other, given that they have a sufficient sample size. (6/?)

Every game since 1997 has its own dedicated page, with some of the most accurate single game metrics that any website has to offer.
The first metric is xPTS, which measures the points a player added to the margin in a single game, split into offense and defense. It uses a player’s season XPM as their baseline, and judges their performance by how much better or worse they performed compared to that baseline. This allows it to factor in impact beyond the box score that every other single game metric misses.
The next is the win-probability chart and the Wip Probability that each player added to their team in a given game. This provides a clear picture of how a player performs under pressure. My in-game win probability model ties DunksandThrees’ and beats ESPN's and inpredictable's.
Lastly, Shot Quality%, SHOT+, and PTS+ separate getting good looks from making hard ones. They're built from every shot's location back to 1997, with tracking details in recent seasons. (5/?)
