I remember bits of Blood Meridian. I remember the monkey suit standing out in Wise Blood. I remember being pleasantly shocked by how much A Sportsman's Notebook made view environments differently. I remember being floored by Robert Frost and William Blake. But I remember no detail. None at all. I have entire pages analyzing the poetic structure of A.E. Housman's "A Shropshire Lad and Other Poems" which I used to learn poetic form. Yet it's all jibberish now. I don't understand what I wrote. I have shelves of totally forgotten content and vaguely remembered experiences. 😔
