“For decades, Rwanda was shaped by a deliberate system of exclusion, fear, and division. The purpose of the liberation struggle was to restore what had been taken away: the right of Rwandans to live in dignity.
However, the ideas behind the genocide have not disappeared completely. They persist in different forms, and remain present across our region. We have seen, and suffered too much to ever take this threat lightly.
Security and good governance are the foundation of everything we have built. Security is a matter of survival, not external approval. Without it, nothing else holds together. That is why we remain vigilant and firm.
What happened here will never happen again, for one simple reason: we will not allow it.”President Kagame | #Kwibohora32

Charles. Good Point .Africa (like Asia) faces the fastest urbanisation in history . So as expected it results in massive challenges as in (infrastructure, jobs, housing ,informal sector etc ).That takes time.
The experience of Kigali (and by the way several secondary cities and towns )show we can get it right. Cities of three C C C and one G: Clean, free of Crime ,free of Corruption and Green : btw it does not require AID money !!Kigali s 30 year transformation did not depend on aid money, and does extend to smaller upcountry towns like the iconic Musanze which I know you visit often . But there others ,see you there soon!!

“We have to live our lives, we have to live the way we want. And I tell anybody to his face, to go to hell. If anyone comes around and says we are going to sanction you. Go to hell. Just go to hell. You have your own issues to deal with. Go and deal with your own issues. Leave me to mine. This is the spirit Rwandans must have in their daily lives.” President Kagame | #Kwibuka31

“I want to tell you that being yourself, standing firm in your identity, is not easy, it is an arduous task. Just like liberating this country. It required sacrifices, and some had to give up the most valuable thing a person has: life itself. Rwandans sacrificed their lives so that our country could become what it deserved to be.
We Rwandans must be ready to tighten our belts. And not just tightening belts, we must fight for our rights. It is our duty to fight for our rights.” President Kagame | #KwegeraAbaturage
