The Ravens kept John Harbaugh and let Mike Macdonald walk.
The Lions kept Dan Campbell and let Ben Johnson walk.
The Bucs kept Todd Bowles and let Liam Coen walk.
The Vikings can't make the same mistake with Brian Flores and Kevin O'Connell.
Positive thoughts after the Vikings win because this fanbase needs it:
- Defense is clearly the best in the NFL.
- A Vikings QB has yet to be outplayed in a game this season (defense is that good)
- The offense could definitely use an upgrade at RB and Jonathan Taylor, Saquon Barkely & Tony Pollard are available.
- Blake Cashman, Dallas Turner & Jalen Redmond should be 1st team all-pro this season.
- They have a winning formula/identity that clearly works (dominant defense, special teams & ball control offense)
- I truly believe the offense will be a top 15 unit when it matters the most.
I am ready to get hurt again.
The storyline from national media schmucks from the Vikings Colts game will be that they are frauds or lucky.
However the Vikings defense yet again proved it is the best in the NFL by far today...
QB stats vs. Vikings defense:
3 TD/7 INT
21 sacks taken
96/178 (53.9%)
61.7 passer rating
First drive out of the bye week and Kevin O'Connell runs the ball 4 times with Aaron Jones!
WHO HAS A SPRAINED MCL!
What is your confidence level in the Vikings beating the Colts today?
Scale it 1-10
I am pretty confident the Vikings win by two scores & offense has a dominate performance.
Vikings can only leave the trade deadline with one....
You can make arguments for all three, who are trading for?
It would be an absolute honor to come on your show & talk Vikings with you @colincowherd
I know that may be an uncomfortable conversation for you since the Vikings haven't been discussed much.
But what Brian Flores is doing to opposing QBs should be one of the top storylines in the NFL this season.
Another weekly laugh @colincowherd
If only we have seen the Vikings play the Packers or Bears.

The Vikings are going to be ultra aggressive at NFL trade deadline this season.
NFC is wide open.
Multiple 3rd & 5th round picks in 2027 draft.
But most importantly majority of the roster is in the prime of their careers. (Justin Jefferson, Van Ginkel, Darrisaw, Cashman, Murphy Jr., O'Neill & Redmond, etc)
If not now then when?
Go get Jonathan Taylor, Saquon Barkley or Quenton Nelson.
2023 2nd-round draft pick
2023 3rd-round draft pick
2023 4th-round draft pick
2024 5th-round draft pick
This is what the 49ers gave up for Christian McCaffrey in October, 2022.
If this is what it takes for the Vikings to get Jonathan Taylor from the Colts, they need to do it.
The 2024 Eagles were led by a great defense and Saquon Barkley.
The 2025 Seahawks were led by a great defense and Kenneth Walker.
If Jonathan Taylor is available, the Vikings need to be all over it.
The NFC is completely wide open, the Vikings need to be aggressive at the deadline.
The Colts & Eagles rosters are littered with good players at positions of need for Minnesota, and both of them should be sellers.
Take advantage.
