Did you know DreamWorks Home was originally based on a book? Well now you do. youtu.be/8KPU88oV1M4
This was the scene that made me realize Avatar was going to be something special.
And there’s people who unironically say you can just skip book 1.
I just realized something interesting about Avatar: The Last Airbender. In the Earth Kingdom, Haru saved an old man, only for that same man to betray him. But in the Fire Nation, when Jet was planning to destroy a village, an old man vouched for Sokka after Sokka saved him. 👀
THE PARALLEL IS ACTUALLY INSANE. In one situation, someone Haru saved turned against him, while in the other, someone Sokka saved helped protect him. Two similar situations, but completely different outcomes.
This is one of the reasons Avatar was written so brilliantly. It constantly reminds us that the world isn’t black and white. The people on the supposedly good side aren’t always good, and the people on the supposedly bad side aren’t always evil. Sometimes, the real difference comes down to individual choices, not which nation someone belongs to. 🔥
Once upon a time there used to be this mythical place called Tumblr. These people roamed there daily, free to talk like this openly with nothing but support. Then the great NSFW ban happened, and all these people immigrated to Twitter. Realizing they couldn’t openly talk like this without heavy push back, they toned themselves down for the sake of their arguments. But once they found refuge in a safe accepting environment again, the filters were no longer needed. And as such their true colors are once again revealed.
My ideal night with Frankie would be listening to her complain about her back issues and having to work tomorrow.
