Amazing inspiration and modelling of best practice from @PatersonMisty 🍎 as TC’s from SEL, IB, ABC, CITE & MYSRL cohorts @UBCTeacherEd explored inquiry and experiential learning. “How might you cultivate the “wow” in now? What’s one action you can take?” #UBCBEd2024

This is a fabulous illustration of serve and return. One for all my lovely colleagues in the North West!
I could tell you this is baby talk in a Scouse accent and it still won’t prepare you for it

I’ve never endorsed a presidential candidate before. But this year’s election stands to be so enormously consequential for women and families that, this time, I can’t stay quiet. Women deserve a leader who cares about the issues they face and is committed to protecting their safety, their health, their economic power, their reproductive rights, and their ability to freely and fully participate in a functioning democracy. In this election, the contrast couldn’t be greater, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. I will be voting for President Biden. m-gat.es/4cv7SlW

An exciting online workshop series over 4 weekends to look at examples of #learning in #Kindergarten to elicit big ideas such as #agency, #community, #inquiry and #play, reflect on our own pedagogical beliefs and move our own practice forwards. chaptersinternational.com/ma…

🏫 #Schools don't become "#inclusive schools" by #learning strategies and implementing programs. They become inclusive because the people are collaborative, caring, innovators who make it work for each #student. #LeadInclusion #EdLeaders #Teachers #UDL #TeacherTwitter

. @JamesNottinghm, in Teach Brilliantly, presents DIALOGUE as one thing we need to do more of in our classrooms. @kaser_linda & @jhalbert8 gave copies to some Network Leaders and now Linda’s posting this and we are sharing. Let’s get curious about how talk can affect learning.

A kindergartener told me, “If it’s creative, the feeling comes. Creativity is the sister of imagination.” Connections to flow, motivation and engagement, and play being a process, a state of mind and full of possibilities. Creativity and play both support active meaning making.

Yes! This is an important reminder for #inquiry educators too where verbal expression can be privileged.
🗣️ We all know "class participation" usually means "speaking up." But speaking up isn't the same as engagement. Let's be inclusive of those who are more introspective, #introverts, those with social anxiety, and those uncomfortable speaking up. #LeadInclusion #EdLeaders

💡 Until we give #students multiple means of showing what they understand/can do, we are not implementing mastery-based grading (SBG). It's still performance on a task, albeit reported on standards. Multiple means of expression is how we take it to the next level. #LeadInclusion

Yes, so much yes! Thank you as a teacher and parent 💖
👥 Students who have #IEPs are not "special education students." They are simply students. They belong to every educator they have. Receiving a service shouldn't impose an identity. #LeadInclusion #EdLeaders #Teachers #UDL
