A gentle reminder to teachers that your lessons have lifelong impacts. Back home, randomly ran into two high school teachers. Mr MacMillan (whose lessons helped me through live coverage of a BC non-confidence vote) and Mr Bartlett (who organized our high school debating). Thanks!

Warm congratulations to the shishalh Nation on their 34th Year of Self Governance.
The first to achieve Self-Governance in Canada, the shishalh People have been self-determining since the passing of Bill C 93 Sechelt Indian Band Self Government Act in 1986.
I am so pleased to hear stories of the great first day back to school for many of our students! Thank you to principals for the careful planning and to all staff for their commitment to students’ well being.

#SD46 Looking forward to greeting the students today and over the next few days. It is in a new way - yes - and we have got to be careful - but it feels great to finally begin the learning journey again! #InThisWeJourneyTogether

Remember: Deep listening is your superpower this fall. Slow down and prioritize...
- Relationships over rigor
- Connection over content
- Support over supervision
- Courage over comfort
We can do this. We can humanize our schools and communities. We can speak truth to power.

For weeks Dr. Henry has said don't travel if it's not essential. Yesterday ferries to the #SunshineCoastBC were full of people who deserve to live in a dictatorship. The rest of us respect seniors, health care workers and each other.
