The egos have landed in Portadown tonight. 🎪 But one thing remains crystal clear - you're still not getting down the Garvaghy Road! The residents stood firm for their community and for their rights. And we stood with them. No forced marches. No going back. ✊

Children are being told to wear an extra jumper in the classroom to stay warm while MLA's are set to get another pay rise. Enough is enough - people here deserve better than this.

Garvaghy Update : Today’s Court of Appeal hearing has ended with judgment reserved. That means there is no final ruling today. The judges are now considering the residents’ challenge to the Parades Commission decision, with the Lady Chief Justice saying a decision will come on a swift timeframe. For now, we wait. The position of the Garvaghy Road residents remains clear: no Orange parade should be forced through their community against their wishes. We continue to stand with them. Solidarity ✊️

The Chief Constable of the PSNI has never launched a ‘large scale’ criminal investigation to remove flags erected to intimidate Catholics every year right across the north. Arresting people who stood against a supremacist, sectarian parade puts him on the wrong side of history

Around 200 people turning up in a car park to listen to Jamie Bryson last night tells its own story. For all the noise, threats and grandstanding, he clearly does not have the influence he would have people believe. I think people, including many within the unionist community, can see through this whole facade. What is happening around Garvaghy Road is increasingly being used by Bryson to put himself at the centre of the story. An ego trip played out in a car park while a community is being forced through this nightmare all over again. People see through it.

Thanks to Leona and the Irish News for taking the time to chat about the origins of our work, what drives it and the people and communities that continue to make it all possible.
Among roaring hate and division that is being peddled today, could I interest you in some kindness and solidarity? West Belfast’s @PaulDoherty___ opened a foodbank in his garage during Covid. It has grown into a community hub that helps thousands of people weekly @irish_news

Whatever happens politically in the coming days and weeks, one thing must be clear: nationalist communities will not accept decisions being made over their heads and imposed upon them. The Garvaghy Road fiasco showed exactly why that cannot be allowed to happen again. Our rights, our voice and our communities must be respected. There can be no return to the politics of the past. Those days are over.

When west Belfast community worker Paul Doherty first pitched the idea of a community food hub in the garage of his Turf Lodge home, during the Covid lockdown, most people thought him mad. But he knew what it was like to be hungry. He looked around him at people who were really struggling. And never being a man to sit back and let others do what was needed, he persevered. We are continuing to stand with the people of the Garvaghy Road. After everything this community has endured, they should never have been dragged back into this nightmare again. The solidarity has been immense. Residents have stood firm and stood together. Their position could not be clearer: the Orange Order is not walking down this road. Garvaghy Road will not stand alone. Whatever comes next, we will be here.

Jon Boutcher and the PSNI have serious questions to answer about how they got this so badly wrong. Their assessment helped shape a decision that has put the Garvaghy Road community under enormous pressure almost 30 years after Drumcree. Residents are still standing together peacefully and making their position clear today. They have also received incredible solidarity from across Ireland. This community went through hell during Drumcree. Serious failures in judgement should never have put them through this again.
