Paulus Rex Imperator

When En Vogue hit SNL in March 1992, they dismantled the myth that girl groups couldn’t sing full-throttle live in heels. Trading leads across Cindy, Dawn, Terry, and Maxine, their dynamic control remained untouchable—from Dawn’s raspy rock bite to Terry’s operatic belts. When they converged on the hook, their four-part harmonies locked in with their blend and zero backing tape. The album dropped 3 days later, proving to themselves and to the world just how Funky, these Divas really are.
