1.4 million people came out to vote in the Paxton/Cornyn runoff that Paxton won with almost 70% of the vote. One of the most embarrassing losses suffered by a Senate incumbent in US history. I’m not sure where the idea comes from that the base isn’t fired up to vote for the guy.
