🔹 #PCA News | Exploring the Future of Institutional Arbitration at 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 in Melbourne 🇦🇺🦘🔹 🌏 On 14 October, #PCA Legal Counsel Bryce Williams addressed Australian counsel, arbitrators and judges on the future of institutional arbitration, together with representatives of ACICA (Diana Bowman), the @LCIAnews (Sarah Grimmer), @ICC_arbitration (Tejus Chauhan), SIAC (Matthew Brown), and @ADRorg (Thara Gopalan). The session was moderated by Michael Weatherley (@AshurstPerkins). 🏛️ Mr. Williams explored the PCA's unique position in the landscape of international dispute settlement, its growing caseload, and the Court's strategic priorities over the next five years. ⏩🏛️⏩ ⚖️ He also reflected upon current and emerging challenges facing arbitral institutions, including the use of AI by counsel and arbitrators, counsel conduct, and the impact of geopolitics on proceedings. 🤖🌏 #PermanentCourtofArbitration #IntLaw #Arbitration

🔹 #PCA News | London Conference on International Law 2026 🇬🇧🔹 🌍 The @PCA_CPA was pleased to participate in the 2026 edition of @LondonIntLaw, where #PCA Deputy Secretary-General Garth Schofield joined a panel discussion on "The Peaceful Settlement of Disputes". ⚖️ Chaired by Dr. @azaria_danae (@ucl), the panel also featured Chanaka Wickremasinghe (@FCDOGovUK), Joshua Kelly (@Freshfields), and Prof. Laurence Boisson de Chazournes (@MatrixChambers). The panelists explored the range of mechanisms available for the peaceful settlement of international disputes, including #arbitration, adjudication, #conciliation, and other diplomatic processes, and examined how these mechanisms interact, complement or supplement one another, and at times, operate in parallel. 💡 The exchange highlighted the importance of a pluralistic approach to international dispute settlement and the role of diverse mechanisms in addressing the multifaceted nature of international disputes. #PermanentCourtofArbitration
