Expedited review got that one wrong in the Steelers game. Ball clearly coming loose before Shough’s knee hit the ground.
Started a Substack, to get some thoughts on my old beats out there. It’s free. Figured I’d share my first PSU post, on the importance of pursuing future hope over present wins in a lost season. CMC needs to embrace the benefits of pursuing the hope.

We need to be careful using words like "amazing" and "committed" when athletes make these types of decisions. They're dangerous and shouldn't be celebrated. You don't see it while you're playing, but once you retire, you realize how hypnotized you were.
Might be looking at the lowest TV rating a PSU game has drawn in a looooooooong time for this one.

The NFL can not and should not be taken seriously as a league. Celebrating this hit a week after the call against Miami - on the same hit - for roughing the passer is completely tone deaf.
FWIW...neither should be roughing. Or both should. As the comments correctly pointed out.
If you’re looking for a bright spot this season, Chase Sowell is genuinely pretty good. And he’s playing hard out there. A guy you’d wish PSU had a few years ago.
There’s no second-level impact for the PSU defense. When the back gets past the line, he’s encountering DBs.

Becht made a nice throw to Eskildsen for a 16-yard gain and then badly missed Sowell over the middle and Robinson down the left sideline. Both were open.
Not sure what you can do to stop this, but throwing 8 out there and hoping for different probably isn’t it.
