B2B stablecoin payments hit 26B, up 733% in a year. But StablecoinInsider also says only a handful of AP tools tie the payment back to the invoice approval and the ledger.
So the money moves fast and the paper trail doesn't. Most finance teams won't notice until the auditor asks who approved a payment that's sitting in a wallet and not in the books.

Blockchain.com added options on SOL and six other assets for eligible users. Picture a treasury company writing calls against its SOL. Somebody has to decide where the premium gets booked and which lot gets delivered if it's assigned. Right now that usually gets figured out by the trader after the trade is already on. Finance should be in the room before the first one.
Reach out to me or the @node_40 team if you want to see how we support options.

Strategy puts every bitcoin purchase on a public page: date, amount, average cost, total cost. So if you run a treasury company and can't pull the same lot-level history out of your own books, you're going to feel it the first time an analyst or auditor asks. Nobody made that page the standard. It just became the thing everyone gets compared to.

SEC's proposal lets advisers and funds hold crypto themselves when there's no qualified custodian. People are reading that as a convenience. The catch is the custodian statement, which has quietly been doing the fund's reconciliation for years. Self-custody means someone at the fund now owns that, and most funds haven't hired that person.

SOL saw a lot of volatility this year. If you run a validator, every reward you got was worth a different amount on the day it landed. Averaging them by month gives you a number that's wrong, and the auditor is going to spot it before you do.

Proposed stablecoin rules from the accounting board make cash-equivalent treatment a choice. So two companies can hold the exact same coin, book it two different ways, and both be right.
The catch is the auditor. Whichever way you go, you have to defend it, and that comes down to whether you can show a clean history of every transaction. Most treasury teams I talk to can't yet.

Hong Kong's second spot Solana ETF is live with staking, and BitGo is the custodian for the HashKey fund. Everyone's going to watch flows. From a reporting perspective, I'll be watching the first month-end instead. The custodian's balance, the validator's rewards, and the fund's books all have to match, and staking rewards don't land on the fund's schedule. Somebody ends up reconciling that by hand, and I don't know yet who it is.

Deribit's biggest bitcoin options position right now is 25,030 BTC in 5K calls. That's a trade, fine. What I'd want to know from any treasury selling calls is which specific lots are sitting behind them at month end. If that answer only exists in one person's head, you don't have a covered position, you have a story about one. @Node_40 Bedrock helps manage those positions.

DFDV reports 12% growth in SOL and SOL-equivalent holdings since August 12, from purchases and organic accumulation. I like the operating model: staking its own SOL while earning fees from outside stake delegated to its validators.
globenewswire.com/news-relea…
For a validator serving a staking fund, I'd put reporting in the service agreement: rewards by epoch, commissions and the stake accounts involved. The fund's accounting team should be able to trace its income without rebuilding the validator's history.

Looking forward to Full Throttle with @tryarchpublic. If you’re trading with their algos and thinking through the tax side, let’s connect there. Happy to share how I’m approaching it in my own portfolio using @Node_40. archpublic.com/full-throttle
SEC just made it easier for RIAs to shift crypto custody between providers, which means tracking cost basis when it moves is non-negotiable. I watched Solana staking rewards land at a new custodian and come out the other side tagged "unknown basis." Same coins, same owner, nothing actually changed, except now the IRS paperwork does.

Moving SOL between custodians under the same ownership shouldn't turn a known acquisition into 'unknown basis.' I'd test whether the receiving records preserve acquisition dates, quantities and basis before moving the position.

FASB is actually asking whether stablecoins count as cash equivalents. Comment period closes November 19. If that comes back yes, treasury teams get an accounting election that moves the balance sheet, and most of the firms already running stablecoins through ops don't have a subledger that would survive an auditor asking them to prove it.

Peirce leaves the SEC and crypto issuers lose the one commissioner who'd push back on a sloppy impairment call. I expect auditors will get more conservative on ASC 350-60 classification starting now, not whenever a rule actually changes.

An AI agent can stay within its wallet balance and still exceed its authority. When it pays for compute, I'd want the record to connect that payment to an approved task and spending limit.

A new team doesn't erase a token issuer's promises. SEC staff FAQ 2.2 says the investment contract persists when another party assumes the promised essential managerial efforts. Due diligence needs to follow those commitments through the handoff.

I like that Bitwise shows both gross and net staking rates for BSOL. A few tenths of a percent matter when you're staking millions of SOL. I'd want that same visibility when comparing any staking arrangement.

Deloitte and CAQ found 75% of respondents rank AI governance among their top three priorities. My test for AI in accounting: can another reviewer see the source records, the proposed treatment and who approved it? And most importantly... if the model changes, do the results remain consistent?
