Michigan spoke loud and clear last night by electing Abdul El-Sayed! And they didn't stop there, they also elected progressives Will Lawrence and Donavan McKinney and re-elected our longtime ally, Rashida Tlaib! Congrats: @AbdulElSayed / @WeWillMi / @DonavanMI13 / @RashidaTlaib

The veterans of Common Defense endorsed Deb Haaland for Governor over a year ago because we knew she was the best choice for New Mexico and for veterans. Congratulations to the FIRST indigenous woman to ever lead a state!

Dear dozens of new economic populist members of Congress,
You’ll face fast pressure to deliver economic results. How to do it? Subpoena CEOs. A shocking amount of time, they'll change what they are doing long before you pass a bill or actually cut off their federal funding. So:
- Subpoena Google for cramming AI down our kids throats. Threaten to amend the FAR to prohibit contracting across the U.S. government with any company forcing kids to use AI.
- Subpoena the private equity managers enshittifying hospitals, dialysis centers, your local vet, your local primary care provider. Name individuals, not just companies. Shame them. Show the public (and public pension funds) how they make their money.
- Subpoena health insurers who use AI to auto-deny valid claims, triage mental health emergencies, or upcode diagnoses. Make them stop that.
- Subpoena the airlines for systematically denying cash refunds to travelers. (“Here’s a voucher instead!”) Show your hand – threaten the subpoena now, before Thanksgiving.
- Subpoena Brazilian meatpacker JBS for literally anything. For child labor, for getting fat and rich off of cattlemen, for making their workers work so fast their hands curl into claws, for persistent hygiene allegations.
- Subpoena corporate landlords. Show the public how they get rich off of hidden fees and not fixing their apartments.
- Subpoena any company that has been slow to issue tariff refunds to small business owners. I bet they’ll get their checks a lot quicker!
Will it work? See what happened when Instacart was exposed as secretly marking up your grocery cart... Yes, it can work.
P.S. If anyone tells you “No, you can’t do that” or “No, there’s a process for that,” ignore them. You know what time it is.
Trump ran and won as an anti-war candidate in 2024 because Democrats left that lane wide open for him.
Voters have just brutally punished him and the GOP for breaking that promise.
Will Democrats finally get it? Americans are tired of war. They want a new foreign policy.

On July 3rd, I celebrate the day the U.S. Army (with 35,000 Pennsylvanians in its ranks) drove the traitor forces from the fields of Gettysburg, turned the tide of the war to end slavery, and saved the Union.
Never forget: Lee was an oath breaking traitor, the head of a military force fighting for a slaver oligarchy to overthrow the American government. And he was a loser.

On this day in history: July 2, 1863, the Confederacy got its butt handed to it on a platter by a liberal arts college professor on sabbatical.
Don't mess with college professors.

One reason for the reason the left is ascendant is not just finding charismatic young candidates, it's the staffing mismatch behind the candidates.
Look at this video of @MelatKirosCO going viral. This requires a lot of talented people, filming, editing, getting people 2 a rally

A first-of-its-kind analysis by The Intercept found that in the Army, women are more likely to be killed by their fellow service members than by enemy combatants, in a reversal of the threat soldiers are trained to face.

Graham Platner: I'm going to win this thing. James Talarico will win in Texas, Mary Peltola in Alaska, Sherrod Brown in Ohio, Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, and Peggy Flanagan in Minnesota. These won't just be flips from red to blue, but from red to fighting Democrats.

Ta-Nehisi Coates: Future Congresswoman Chevalier represents actual voters. A district filled with black and brown people. And what James Carville is saying is a “statement on how he feels about black and brown people, and the fact that they are useful to him when they vote the way that he agrees with. When they don’t, kick them out of the party. They don’t deserve representation.”
Coates said the Democratic Party “owes its very present existence to the Black freedom struggle.” “Is it actually honoring the core morality and principles of that struggle?” he asked.

I don’t think this messaging works. Joe who works at ChikFilA is not thinking his wage is a “national security threat.” Democrats have to let the Langley language go.
The biggest national security threat facing the United States is not coming from China, Russia, or Iran. It’s coming from inside the country.
It’s the threat to the middle class and the erosion of the American Dream.
When people can’t get ahead, when you work hard and still cannot save money, cannot buy a house, cannot pay your electricity bill, you feel shame and frustration. And you look for someone to blame. Someone who doesn't look like you, or talk like you, or pray like you.
And what we typically think of as the key to the American Dream, that by putting your head down and working hard, eventually it will pay off, it’s just not cutting it anymore. Gas prices, groceries, healthcare, everything is more expensive. It feels like an unattainable uphill battle.
We are a diverse country and I think that that is one of our greatest strengths. But diversity only holds when the dream underneath it is still alive.

Gov. @JBPritzker: It's always interesting to see what Donald Trump can and can't find money for. Not enough money for Medicaid, SNAP, or the VA, yet somehow enough money to send ICE into our streets, to build a gilded ballroom, to hire the worst contractor in history to renovate the Reflecting Pool. So many of us have sat in horror in the face of Donald Trump's actions, wondering how are we going to repair this country. It's past time that we invoke the 25th Amendment.
