"APS thus asks the Commission to accept two seemingly irreconcilable propositions. On one hand, the existing PSA framework can shift costs to classes that did not cause them. On the other, APS claims it somehow avoided those cost shifts 'up to this point' without the benefit of the proposed direct-assignment mechanism it now says is needed to prevent them." azcentral.com/story/news/pol… #energy #aps #acc #datacenters
Biological diversity, agriculture, and solar power can all co-exist on the same parcel.
In Georgia, where agriculture is the biggest business, we should be able to farm the sun just as we farm the land.

Peter Hubbard made history when he flipped a Georgia Public Service Commission seat for the first time in 25 years, beating a sitting Republican incumbent by 26 POINTS!
This year, he’s back on the ballot for a full 6-year term. Congrats @PeterHubbardGA 🎉 Let’s run it back in November!

We just learned that Georgia is moving forward with gerrymandering for 2028.
There is an extreme movement in this country that will stop at nothing to hold on to power, even if it means stripping representation away from millions.
I will fight this with everything I have.
Hardworking Georgians who pay a power bill deserve Public Service Commissioners who are engaged, ask tough questions, don't take money from companies they regulate, and at a bare minimum are awake for hearings that will add billions to our bills.

This plant will not get built, and if it does get built it won't run. Just paying of the capital (assuming 9.5% return requirements over 15 years and a 70% annual load factor) would require over $75/MWh. BEFORE paying for any fuel or operating expense.

NEWS: Six months before the Trump admin began bombing Iran, the Department of State fired its oil and gas experts.
State’s energy division got completely DOGE’d. And with it went the people who knew how to plan for a global energy crisis.

This year, Georgia Democrats are contesting more state legislative races than we have since last century.
These record-shattering numbers are just the latest sign of the undeniable momentum we’re building across the state.

Energy prices are rising because Trump is suppressing cheap clean energy and pushing export of natural gas. Both drive up U.S. costs. Both reward fossil fuel donors. Corruption is the word.

Amazing speech, Senator Howard. You are speaking truth to power, and that is sorely missing in Georgia. Democrats will change that after the election this November.
Senate GOP blocked SB 34, a bill that would have shielded utility customers from rising costs due to data centers. Senator Jaha Howard called them out for giving in to Big Tech and failing to stand up for working Georgians. #gapol

Rate freezes are a bad policy idea on reliability, affordability, & electrification grounds. Likely to defer investment, lead to rate shock, lock in regressive rates, & slow electrification. It also mistakes affordability for price stability & not costs relative to income.

We are now at 1136 new measles cases - in just the first 8 weeks of this year alone.
A preventable disease resurging.
This is an abject policy failure.

Barack Obama reached a deal that prevented Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.
Trump ripped up that deal.
Now we are at war with Iran to prevent it from getting a nuclear weapon.

The U.S. is set to build a lot of power generation this year — and solar is on track to make up half of it.
