Whenever I have an idea, something inspires me or I hear something unusual, I write it down. I do that for a while. As I go through it, I might have an idea for a song or a phrase or something… and then I start to weave together some of the ideas into a storyline #songwriting

I am a storyteller songwriter. I think those songs are some of the best. The guys I admired growing up were storytellers #hankwilliams #bobdylan #muddywayers #bluesartists #countryartists Moving to Alabama as a kid inspired me a lot because all they do is tell stories down south – at Alabama, USA

My philosophy with songwriting is that simple is the best. If you can really shave it down to one line that says it all, then you got a good song 🎶 #peterkarp #kristenleighmedia #songwriting #songwriter #singersongwriter #musician #lifeofasongwriter #simple #simpleisbest

At age 7 I picked up the accordion. That lead to picking up the guitar 🎸 & piano 🎹 during my mid teens. At an early age I was exposed to some of the most talented musicians on the planet, and all I can say is once the music bug bit me, I found my greatest love… making music 🎶

When people ask me what genre of music I make, my best explanation is “Soul-influenced Americana-Blues Rock”. What can I say? I have a lot of musical influences 🎶 #peterkarp #soulmusic #soulinfluenced #americana #soul #blues #rock #musicalinfluences #influences #americanamusic
