🚨🎙️ Harry Kane on his altercation with Kylian Mbappé after winning the Ballon d’Or. Reporter: We saw you having a moment with Mbappé after the ceremony. What was that about? Harry Kane: Honestly, after receiving my award, everyone was congratulating me, so I thought he was coming to congratulate me too. But instead, he said something I found really unprofessional, and I felt disappointed because Mbappé is someone I respect a lot. I never expected that from him, especially at a moment that was supposed to be about celebrating the achievement. Reporter: What exactly did he say to you? Harry Kane: He looked at me and said, “Congratulations on stealing my award.” I was shocked. I looked at him like, how can you say that to me? I’m not the one who voted for myself. I worked hard throughout the season, and the voters made their decision. I was angry, but I tried to remain professional. Then he said, “You had a great season, but everyone knows I’m the rightful winner of this award.” That’s when I really lost my patience. Honestly, I don’t even know if I said something I shouldn’t have, but I wasn’t going to stand there and let him disrespect me. Reporter: What did you say in response? Harry Kane: I told him to shut up and move on because if there’s anyone who should be disappointed, it’s Lamine Yamal, not him. Lamine had an incredible season, won the most prestigious trophy in international football, and still came to congratulate me with respect. He had every reason to feel disappointed, yet he showed class. So why are you standing here complaining? Are you seriously going to cry because you didn’t win? What made me even angrier was that I genuinely respect Mbappé, but respect has to go both ways. I don’t feel proud of how that moment unfolded because I respect him as a player, but that doesn’t mean I’ll accept being disrespected by him.
