Oxford Street is being pedestrianised, so pedestrians can now enjoy the fresh thrill of being mown down by bikes instead of a bus. Another triumph of planning by people who apparently never walk anywhere.
Could they not at least have put in a proper, segregated bike lane? Now pedestrians are left dodging bikes, while phone thieves can help themselves to a ready-made hunting ground. Oxford Street: pedestrianised on paper, free-for-all in practice.
Who thought this was a good idea?

This is the result of them being unchallenged in their entitled lawlessness by anyone in authority for many years
Cyclists are continuing to ride along the newly pedestrianised section of Oxford Street, despite being asked to dismount.
Around seven security staff have been stationed near Oxford Circus, calling out to cyclists to get off their bikes, with mixed success.

Why aren’t Met Police or TfL fining cyclists breaking Oxford Street pedestrianisation rules? trib.al/4BeWmWl

I see @MayorofLondon’s Oxford Street pedestrian zone is going exactly as expected.
Cyclists will just ignore the rules, like they always do.

Oxford Street has almost been pedestrianised for ages with buses and black cabs.
Closing it to traffic entirely will only add to central London grinding to a halt.
Fitting metaphor for a once great city.

I have news for this guy and @IrishTimes. Israel profiles everyone entering the country as any responsible country should do.
If Ireland was as selective on who it allowed in, this would be a better country.
Now the big question. How is he employed by the European Parliament?
A European Parliament employee who was among three Irish citizens refused entry to Israel this weekend has said he believes authorities are “profiling” Irish nationals. irishtimes.com/ireland/2026/…

#OxfordStreet was much safer yesterday than it is today. Despite the street being pedestrianised, cyclists are causing havoc, and I have nearly been run over by one.

So less than 2 days into the pedestrianisation of Oxford street in central London and it’s all going brilliantly🤦♂️ large mobs causing trouble, Palestinian chanting groups and a group of weirdos trying out their new “tunes” on passers by. Add in the bikes riding in and out of people walking and completely ignoring the new rules and I’d imagine #SadiqKhan is delighted and calling it a roaring success. Mark my words this will not end well.

Henry Nowak is dead because he was White.
That’s it. He was killed in a racist attack because of his race.
Yet our Home Secretary won’t dare admit it. Shame on you and the rest of the government.
Henry Nowak was just 18 years old, with his whole life ahead of him. His murder was a horrific and senseless crime, and my thoughts remain with his family and friends, who have endured unimaginable loss and heartbreak.
The Nowak family have shown extraordinary courage and dignity in their pursuit of answers. Henry’s case has raised serious and legitimate questions about whether more could have been done to prevent this tragedy, and about the response of public authorities in its aftermath.
An independent review will seek those answers.
I am grateful to Alex Chalk for agreeing to lead this important work. He brings considerable experience and expertise, and I know he will conduct the review with the rigour, independence and seriousness that Henry’s case demands.

Where does a Gaza Student get the money to sue the Irish state in the high court?
Well, they don’t, it’s free of course.
A Belfast based human rights law firm - Phoenix Law.
The same law firm that represents the Kneecap zombeens.
But you’ll pay the states legal cost for losing.
The High Court has overturned a decision by the Minister for Justice to refuse a study visa to a Gazan student and ordered that the application be reconsidered and a decision made within ten days rte.ie/news/courts/2026/1027…
