Proxi-RIMS-seq2 was applied to three different microbiomes by NEB and @PhaseGenomics scientists. This high-throughput approach unveiled over 1900 5mC methylated motifs that were deposited in REBASE, including a novel eight-base recognition site (CATm5CGATG) that was experimentally validated by characterizing its cognate methyltransferase.
