#30DayMapChallenge 20: Rural
Another GIF #map of @USGSLandCover in #Delaware. Sussex County is mostly rural but has been growing steadily. I did some calcs of LC and got an ratio of rural cells in the raster for each year. Still quite rural but (literally) losing ground..
#30DayMapChallenge 12: Movement. Migration into southern New Castle County #Delaware as seen by changes in @USGSLandCover 2001-16. They were very small towns until c. 1995 then growth explosion started. #Map made in #QGIS and GIF made in GIMP. I really love how this turned out!

@USGSLandCover raster and DEM from @USGS . I used hillshade styling on #DEM and blending to pop out terrain and show how built areas and farms grow around it. I'm very happy with how this turned out 😀🗺️

Uninsured (i.e. no health insurance) rates for #Delaware. Polygons are #census block groups, smaller than tracts. I'd like to do a lot more with combining multiple socioeconomic factors at the most granular level available.

Commuter rail (not Amtrak) in northeastern US. Some data was hard to find (esp @MTA). I've taken these lines from Wilmington DE to New Haven CT. Shows how challenging #railroad is in US. #Map produced in #QGIS 3.8.
