PHILEMON FOUNDATION WEBINAR Consciousness and the Unconscious: Jungโ€™s Lectures Delivered at ETH Zรผrich ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Presented by Jungian psychoanalyst Beverley Zabriske (Ep. 85) ๐Ÿ“† Sunday, July 26th, 2026 from 2:00โ€“3:30 pm EDT (Zoom Only) โ€œIn May 1933, C.G. Jung applied for an appointment as a lecturer in modern psychology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), to resume lecturing after many years by addressing ETH students and the general public. As Ulrich Hoerni (grandson of C.G. Jung) describes, Jung was awarded the title of โ€˜titularyโ€™ professor, and commenced his lectures series of thirteen semesters. The scholars of the Philemon Foundation have gathered a collection of participantsโ€™ notes, to publish an authentic rendition of Jungโ€™s account of his interactions with the personal and collective psyche, as well as his hypotheses, and analytic approach from that time. In this 2022 volume of the Philemon series, with commentary by scholar Ernst Falzeder, we see Jungโ€™s chart of the psyche not published elsewhere in his writings, read his 1934 understanding of psychological types, and meet a vigorous 59 year old Jung engaging and presenting his experience as a clinician and theoretician of the psyche as an ongoing process.โ€ Beverley Zabriskie, LCSW, is a past vice president for the Philemon Foundation. She is a Jungian Analyst in New York City, where she is a founding faculty member and past president of the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association (JPA). She has been Assistant Editor for the Journal of Analytical Psychology (London) and the San Francisco Jung Journal. She is on the Executive Committee of the Helix Center for Interdisciplinary Investigation, housed at the New York Psychoanalytic Association. This public webinar will be free for all who have donated $125 or more since 2025. For others, webinar tickets are $40. Please endeavour to book in advance. WEBINAR: The Philemon Foundation (@PhilemonF) presents, โ€œThe Creation of the Bollingen Tower: Architecture, Psychology & Symbolism,โ€ a presentation by Jung family member Daniel Baumann. โ–ช๏ธSunday, May 11, 2025 at 2 p.m. EDT This presentation explores the creation of the Bollingen Tower through Carl Gustav Jungโ€™s psychological and symbolic lens, highlighting its role as a manifestation of the โ€œspirit of the depths.โ€ Situated by Lake Zรผrich, the tower is examined not just as a physical structure but as a space reflecting Jungโ€™s inner journey and #individuation process. Drawing from Martin Heideggerโ€™s ideas on building as a mode of dwelling, the essay underscores the towerโ€™s evolution from a simple shelter to a symbolic abode that intertwines personal myth and materiality. Each phase of the towerโ€™s construction mirrors Jungโ€™s psychological growth, with the structure evolving in response to his changing relationship with the #unconscious and the external world. The reflection contrasts Jungโ€™s organic approach to #architecture with modern functionalism, positioning the tower as a counter-manifesto to the mechanistic values of modernity, embodying a holistic space where spirit and matter converge. Daniel Baumann studied architecture at ETH Zรผrich and subsequently worked as an assistant and senior assistant in the Department of Architecture at ETH Zรผrich. From 1990 to 2018, he ran his own architecture firm and a general contracting company. Since 2018 he has been the Head of the โ€œAdministration, Culture and Securityโ€ division and a member of the Board of Directors of the Building Department of the State Building Directorate in Zรผrich.ย From 2000 to 2012, he was a member of the Board of the Foundation Council and at times the President of the C.G. Jung Institute Zรผrich. In 2012 he was a founding member and till 2019 member of the Board of Directors of the C.G. Jung Foundation Zรผrich. He is still a member of the patronage of the C.G. Jung Institute Zรผrich today. โ–ช๏ธThis public webinar will be free for all who have donated $125 or more since 2024. To register, send an email to [email protected]. I love a quality presentation, just signed up for the Philemon Foundation event on #Jungian Depth Psychological Alchemy / The Power of the Opposites. Back in 2015, I interviewed Professor Shamdasani in person, the main editor and author of the Foundation for my show, and presented an original Jungian presentation in Sicily, Italy with Jungโ€™s family in attendance โ€ฆ an exceptional time. About that: mikhailtank.com/jungian Official description of the upcoming event quoted below: โ€œWhat is the Aurora Consurgens? ~ A Presentation by Professor Aksel Haaning. The third volume of the original edition of Mysterium Coniunctionis contained Marie-Louise von Franzโ€™s work, Aurora Consurgens: A Document Attributed to Thomas Aquinas on the Problem of Opposites in Alchemy. This was included in the German edition of Jungโ€™s Collected Works, but not in the English edition. The talk presents the text and address the question, โ€œHow did C.G. Jung discover the text? Why and when was it decided for publication?โ€ It will also touch upon the collaboration between Jung and Marie-Louise von Franz, book history, editions and translations. Further, we will try to move a bit into the content of the text โ€“ the Medieval context (and von Franzโ€™s interpretation), Jungโ€™s study of alchemy and Hermetic Philosophy โ€” and finally address the question of its contemporary relevance for Jung history and our understanding of connections between the unconscious and nature. Aksel Haaning is Professor emeritus in history of philosophy and Science Studies Roskilde University (Denmark), guest lecturer at the C. G. Jung Institute Kรผsnacht, Zรผrich, and author of several books on medieval philosophy, and the monograph, Jung: En stemme fra dybet.โ€
