That's Charlie Chaplin and Mabel Normand in the picture, two of my cinema favorites. I have a Ph.D. in Philosophy and a B.F.A in film-making. I'm a humanist.

Celebrating Diana Dors #BOTD She was Britain’s beloved dazzling platinum-blonde bombshell, with a knockout figure, a wicked wit, and a larger-than-life personality. Her magnetic screen presence and lovable, delicious naughty charm made her utterly unforgettable. Her time here was heartbreakingly brief, and she left this world far too soon, at just 52.

A rare moment of political courage in the British Parliament. British MP Nick Timothy tells Muslims crying “Islamophobia” to shove it: “Muhammad was a false prophet. Britain is not bound by Islam or Sharia.”
What turned the nation that once set the standard for Western civilisation into a people that now hates its own history, sacrifices its own children, and bends the knee to those who want it destroyed? Britain was the moral compass of the free world. Cold, reserved, unsentimental. Never stupid, never suicidal. While America turned the hamburger into a global brand, you drank tea with an accent that announced you as the heirs of Shakespeare, common law, parliamentary government and an empire that had shaped the modern world. You were not ashamed of what made you British. You treated it as a birthright. What changed? How did a people famous for the stiff upper lip become addicted to self-flagellation? How did defending your borders, your culture and your own become a thought crime, while importing those who openly despise everything you represent became a civic virtue? The moment anyone names the pattern, it is not outsiders who come for them. It is their own institutions. You keep open the embassy of the Iranian regime that has plotted terror on British soil and called for the murder of Britons. You sanction the one ally that warned you and helped stop the attack. You send troops abroad while jihadists walk free on your streets. Anyone who points this out is branded the problem by the same establishment that created it. Other nations should study Britain as a warning, not a model. Watch for the symptoms: when your elites treat your own people as the enemy. When patriotism becomes a sin and open borders a sacrament. When the votes of those who reject your civilisation matter more than the safety of those who built it. Britain chose that path. The results are no longer deniable. Protect your own people first. Stop appeasing those who hate you. Enough is enough is enough!

In 1938, five years into Nazi rule, 32 countries met at Evian, France to decide what to do with the Jews of Germany. They talked for nine days. They ate, drank, laughed, and agreed the Jews faced mortal danger. Then they kept their doors closed. By 1945, about 1.5 million Jewish children in Europe had been murdered. That’s 94% of those alive at the start of the war in 1939. There was no army, no reliable passport, and no Allied rescue that arrived in time. Survivors came out of the camps to find neighbors living in their homes and uninterested in their return. In several places, that disinterest turned into violent pogroms. Jews survived Hitler’s madness only to be killed when they tried to return home. Hundreds of thousands of Jewish survivors had no homes and were placed back behind wire as “displaced persons.” Their ancestral homeland, recognized by the League of Nations in 1922 as the site of a Jewish national home, remained under a British blockade that kept Jewish immigration to a trickle. In 1947, the UN offered a truncated Jewish state next to an Arab state. The Jews accepted it, but the Arab Higher Committee refused. On the eve of the 1948 invasion, Azzam Pasha of the Arab League declared it would be “a war of extermination and momentous massacre.” The war killed about 1% of the Jewish population. The rest stayed and built a country that is now a technological leader, a regional power, and home to half the world’s Jews. No conference of self-congratulating leaders gets to decide anymore whether Jews must stay and be slaughtered or leave and hope to be saved. Now, there is a Jewish state. Now, every Jew has a home.

Where is the 'comedy community' rallying to support Russell Brand? It's known he's not very 'clubby', but it could be you tomorrow if you pivot your political stance, funnymen (unlikely to be funnywomen, we presume) Portrait by @seanbwparker @EmpowerInnocent

William A. Horning (1904-1959) has the distinction of being the only person to ever win posthumous Oscars consecutively. He won for Best Art Direction on Gigi & Ben-Hur. He was nominated twice in 1960, also receiving a nod for his work on Hitchcock's North by Northwest.

Celebrating the birthday of Miss Carole Lombard with a shower from William Powell in the wonderful "My Man Godfrey" (1936) Beautiful, brilliant, energetic and a fabulous comedian, she remains best known for "screwball" comedies of the 1930s. With a life tragically cut short, one always wonders what might have been.. Her performances have stood the test of time with new audiences still falling in love with her. #BOTD

It’s midnight in Israel. As we mark the 3-year anniversary of October 7th, the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, I’ll focus for the next 24 hours on honoring the memory of the victims, the heroes, and the stories. We must never forget October 7th, 2023. Never Again.
