1 The team forgot how to play basketball and decided not to try hard from the first game of the season.
2 Poor coaching preparation and unfamiliarity with playing a GIANNIS system = poor execution on both ends
Honestly guys after watching 20 minutes of highlights I have a few conclusions. Bad and Good.
Watching the game that way instead of a the play by play grind helps you see from a farther POV.
Eric Spoelstra and his coaching staff have completely embarrassed this organization.
And because of that it should make the decision to maybe even trade him for Zach Lavine even easier.
If this is the defense we’re getting we might as well lean more into offense with this group as fast as possible in every way possible.
Positive side note to all Heat Fans who see this.
Today showed these guys really have not gotten comfortable playing with Giannis.
He played better with the bench and the starters played better without him.
It’s not because nothing fits lol it’s because of cognitive load.
If Spoelstra and his staff are competent then ALL THEY HAVE TO DO is reduce the cognitive Load on both sides of the ball for every player.
For those who don’t understand that means just Make the game-plan easier by giving more defined roles and less things to think about.
