I put homomorphic encryption inside a Solana program
A Solana program can now add two encrypted numbers without decrypting them. 7 and 200 go in as ciphertext, 207 comes out as ciphertext.
Tested on a real validator: one addition at 256 slots costs 20,322 compute units, one addition at 2048 slots costs 142,104 compute units
Multiplication is a different story. One ciphertext multiply needs millions of compute units, way over Solana’s 1.4M per-transaction limit, so I put this part runs offchain

Hybrid is the realistic starting point for FHE at the edge. Keep keys and encryption on hardware you own, run small computations locally where it makes sense, and let remote infra carry the heavy loads.
Every hardware generation pulls more of that compute back home.

Now you can try PionyrPay. We have built an interface at pionyr.tech/pionyrpay, and you can test it with real transactions on the Sepolia testnet. Gas is paid from your wallet in sETH, and the test pUSD is free from the page.
PionyrPay is confidential x402 settlement on Sepolia, a seller publishes a price, a buyer pays an encrypted amount, and only the seller can decrypt what arrived.

We have added $100 worth of solana:7tFHmjGGg8Je88XgjxVWm4Co9G7SLb85MEzLiBokWgHw to the @MeteoraAG DAMM V2 SOL/PIONYR pool through a buyback funded by a portion of trading fees from the dev wallet.
With SOL paired in the pool, this represents $200 in total liquidity. The LP is configured to compound 100% of fees and is locked permanently.
As liquidity grows, we will continue allocating a portion of trading fees for additional solana:7tFHmjGGg8Je88XgjxVWm4Co9G7SLb85MEzLiBokWgHw buybacks and LP additions. We also plan to add liquidity to a dedicated PIONYR/SOL pool in the future.

That’s the idea behind FHE. Sounds great, right? But there’s a catch. Computing on encrypted data is still painfully slow, and building with FHE requires deep cryptography knowledge.
We believe FHE can become much easier to use and unlock a whole new world of possibilities.
