You quoted ₦600k. But after fuel, data, and transport what did you actually make?

I built my portfolio like a Windows XP desktop. It has a music player, Tetris, Snake and Ping Pong.
Go play a round and tell me your high score 😄

Year 33!!!
It feels different this year, calmer and much clearer.
The last few years have taught me a lot about patience, showing up even when the work isn’t glamorous, and learning what actually deserves my energy. I’ve made mistakes, adjusted, and kept going. Some seasons felt long and others flew by, but through it all, I’ve grown much more comfortable with who I am and less interested in proving anything to anyone.
I’m grateful for my people who have stayed close, supported me through it all, celebrated the small wins, and reminded me every day that life isn’t only about what I build. I’m also grateful for the quiet moments that reset me when the pace gets too high.
At 33, I’m choosing consistency, depth, and intentional work, while making more time for the people and things that truly matter. Thank you all for walking with me this far. Alhamdulillah for life and growth.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
I’m getting comfortable being an underdog, because putting yourself out there can be tiring 😁
I know what is meant for me will definitely find its way to me, now or later!
Putting yourself out there can be very cringe sometimes. You post something and immediately start wondering if you are doing too much, talking about yourself too much, or trying too hard to be seen. For a long time, I struggled with that.
I had friends who would constantly tell me, “Roseline, you are doing a lot more than people know. You are just too humble about it.” Sometimes, it was not even just humility. I did not have the kind of phone that could help me create aesthetically pleasing content. I would see people putting out beautiful videos and pictures and think, Well, mine does not look like that. But I kept putting myself out there anyway.
I remember when I started applying for opportunities too. I had a friend who would always review my essays, and one thing he repeatedly told me was: “You are too humble.” I would write about something I had done and somehow make my own contribution disappear inside the story. He would tell me: if you led it, say you led it. If you built it, say you built it. If you achieved it, say you achieved it.
The reviewer does not know you personally. They only know what you put on that page. That lesson has been powerful for me far beyond applications.
There are times when humility is beautiful. There are also times when unnecessary humility makes your work invisible. Opportunity applications are certainly not the place for unnecessary modesty. Neither, I have learned, is life generally a place where you should constantly wait for other people to tell your story for you.
Sometimes you have to post the imperfect video. Sometimes you have to talk about the work you have done. Sometimes you have to say, clearly, I did this. Because visibility matters.
For someone who once worried if her phone was good enough, if the content was aesthetically pleasing enough, or if talking about her work would sound like bragging, I am glad I kept being present. Sometimes, the opportunities that find you can only find the version of you that you allowed to be seen.
I know a spacious 3 bedroom apartment that should be going for around 800k in Ilorin 🤔
I don’t know when it’s gonna be open though, hopefully soon.
They lack it in their parents houses 🙂
I needed some work done last week, then asked my furniture guy to recommend a trusted hand. Only for them to bill me 50k 😂
I decided to drive down and sort it myself after Fajr, and it took less than 2 hours this morning 🤷🏽♂️😒
