**BOOOOM!!**
Cain's body was sent tumbling across the ground, tearing through dirt and rubble before finally skidding to a stop.
For a moment, there was silence.
Then...
His fingers dug into the dirt.
Slowly, Cain pushed himself upright, blood trickling from his mouth. His β
direction.
"YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST KICK ME AROUND LIKE I'M SOME KIND OF DAMN PUNCHING BAG?!"
Blue-white electricity snapped across his arms as he rolled his shoulders, spitting blood onto the ground.
"COME ON, THEN! HIT ME AGAIN!!"
Cain lunged forward, his movements β
Cain's head snapped toward her.
"...Scared?! THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! I'M **NEVER** SCARED OF **ANYTHING!!**"
His scowl deepened as he jabbed a finger in her direction.
"I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP FOR ANYTHING!! QUIT ACTING LIKE I'M WEAK!!"
Cain stared at her, his brows furrowing deeper with every passing second.
"...Hold on."
He rubbed his forehead, already feeling a headache coming on.
"Your sister fought the AFTERLIFE? What the hell does that even mean?? You're talking about Heaven? Hell? Angels, demons, and β
all that religious crap?!"
He let out an exhausted groan, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Jesus Christ... First my brother's the Antichrist, now you're telling me your sister went to war with the afterlife..."
He lowered his hand, giving Shoko an increasingly suspicious β
Cain scowled at her giggling.
"...The hell are you laughing at?"
He shoved his hands into his pockets and followed her, his heavy footsteps trailing behind hers.
"Tch."
He glanced around as they walked, eyeing their surroundings with the wary suspicion of someone who wasn't β
Cain stared at her.
His brows furrowed as his face settled into an almost impressively blank expression.
He blinked once.
"...The hell's Egypt?"
He continued staring at her for another moment, as if waiting for the rest of that sentence to start making sense. It didn't.
β
compare our situations. They're not the same."
He turned away again, his jaw tightening.
Despite his attempt to appear dismissive, Cain kept a close eye on Shoko from the corner of his eye, watching for the slightest change in her expression. He'd just dropped a bombshell on β
"...Offensive? What are youβ"
GGRRRRLLL...
Cain froze for a moment before clicking his tongue and looking away with an irritated scowl.
"...Tch. Just give me whatever you're having. I don't know shit about burgers."
Cain's brow furrowed at the mention of her sister.
"...Treasure hunting? What, she just goes around digging up stuff for a living?"
He spoke gruffly, but there was noticeably less bite in his voice than usual.
For a moment, his gaze dropped to the ground. His hands remained β
clenched, his jaw tight.
"...Yeah. It was rough."
The admission came out reluctantly, almost as if he hated hearing himself say it.
He fell silent before letting out an irritated sigh.
"Tch. Don't go comparing your sister to him. You don't know a damn thing about what β
Cain watched her scribble on the notepad, his scowl gradually turning suspicious.
"...Oi. What the hell is this?"
He pointed at her, narrowing his eyes.
"...Are you asking me out or something?"
