Two Russian soldiers who deserted from the Kramatorsk front were arrested at a checkpoint on the border of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
They abandoned their weapons, changed into civilian clothes and hitchhiked toward Dnipro, hoping to eventually reach Kyiv.

Russian FPV strike on a Ukrainian position, later than October 12th, according to satellite imagery (teapawt.net/moklasen/status/211486…).
While, according to the Russians, the bulk of their forces is already fighting for Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, and Kostyantynivka is long captured, we somehow see them bombing Ukrainian positions south of Kostyantynivka, between all things in a salient still shown as gray by DS (indicating at least partial continued significance as well as mixing with Russian positions and infiltrators).
It is obvious that, in this specific area, the Russians clearly have more established positions than the Ukrainians do, but when it comes to the general situation, it demonstrates how the Ukrainians still hold positions in Kostyantynivka and is a hint strongly favoring my claim that the Ukrainians hold positions in all of the city and significant positions in its strong majority.
Here, "significant" refers to a position that has the possibility to engage in small arms fire battles and that can't be ignored by the enemy side when planning without negative consequences.
As an example, this excludes positions far behind enemy lines, forced to permanently stay in basements, that don't affect in any way enemy actions.
its kind of funny how everyone picked up the rubicon zapo geo, but almost nobody picked up the geo he did of ua at the southern end of konstaha

Ukraine's 475th Separate Assault Regiment CODE 9.2 evacuated two severely wounded soldiers over the past week using the Ukrainian-made StarGate aerial casevac drone. Ground evacuation was impossible because of terrain, water obstacles and Russian FPV threats. In one mission, StarGate flew nearly 30 km to the casualty and roughly the same distance back, while AI-based navigation kept it flying despite Russian EW suppressing satellite navigation. #Ukraine

In Russia, there are now ~177 known concrete SHORAD towers (Moscow / Valdai type🟡)
Moscow and around: ~98 (>30 built in 2026, >10 replaced former ramps🟢)
Valdai and around: ~50
Refineries Ryazan, Ksovo, Yaroslavl and Kirishi: 10
Important substations: 17 (incl ~7 in Moscow)
A simple territorial framework I use to explain the differences between war maps.
I divide maps into three categories - RIA, Suriyak, and DS - representing four different levels of Russian advance.
RIA - Reach
How far Russian forces claim to have advanced, regardless of whether they have established a presence or control.
RIA and Rybar fall into this category, while the Russian MoD usually places its claims slightly further ahead.
Suriyak - Presence
Where Russian forces have established some presence, but not necessarily control. This is the most sensitive category, reacting quickly to changes on the ground. Easy come, easy go.
Suriyak, AMK, Radov, Creamy, and others pro-Ru belong here.
DS - Contest and Control
DS grey represents contested territory where Ukrainian forces maintain a presence and continue operating.
DS red represents actual Russian control and closely matches the GSUA maps.
OWL, Blackbird, Andrew, Playfra, Poulet, and others pro-Ua generally fall into this category, regardless of how they describe their own mapping methods.
2024–2025 were the golden era of the Russian offensive train. The advance was steady enough that you could simply copy RIA's territorial gains with a week's delay and appear reliable.
But 2026 changed that. RIA moved too far ahead of actual Russian control, while Ukrainian counteractions made delayed copying increasingly unreliable. What once required little more than waiting a week now demands constant corrections, revisions, and sometimes outright reversals.

New airstrike map update in the Hulialpole/Orikhiv direction suggests Russia abandonned its plans to capture Ternuvate and fully switched west
🔴KAB impacts from February to August 2026
⚪️KAB impacts in September 2026
🟡KAB impacts in October 2026
Every month this year, Russia launched hundreds of KABs (FAB bombs guided by the UMPK kit) on the Hulialpole frontline. They were targeting Ukrainian positions on treelines and villages.
I've noticed how every month, impacts moved further west, as if Russia was trying to destroy methodically every fixed/known position from east to west. Indeed, there is barely any new strike on places which were already bombed, probably to let infiltrations work.
However, the strikes have now moved 10 to 15km east of the frontline, which in itself has barely moved and is still stuck near the first bunch of villages west of Hulialpole. The focus of the strikes and the montly concentration helps understand what was and is Russian plan in this direction :
-> It seems they abandonned Ternuvate, which is a very big victory for Ukraine, since this town protects all the northern flank of this offensive and has multiple high rise buildings were Ukrainian soldiers can hide.
-> Any offensive northwards no seems very difficult, thanks to Ukrainian Oleksandrivka counter-offensive. This forces Russia to fight on the lower ground without controling the heights.
-> The main push is ongoing from Hulialpole in the direction of Zaporizhzhia, aiming at avoiding Orikhiv. Russia is currently dropping bombs in the area of the unfinished second defensive line despite the fact it still has not crossed the first one.
Thank you for following, I will later try to analyse more deeply this direction and what happened this year, especially how Ukraine managed to nearly stop the offensive on Zaporizhzhia. Remember as well how the infiltrations inside of Orikhiv failed and how Ukraine cleaned the city from infiltrators.

"Штурмовики зачистили підземний газогін в районі Куп'янська"
The general Ukrainian interception rate for jet-powered Shahed drones continues to slowly rise. In Kyiv specifically, in terms of jet-powered Shahed strikes, the situation is improving, but even small amounts of them being able to strike the city still causes a lot of problems, and the general situation is still hard.
Kyiv. The Russians continue attacking the city mostly with Geran-3s and Geran-4s and cruise missiles.
Today, though, for example, an increase in the number of drones shot down is being felt.
In general, it's to expect that the percentage of intercepted Russian jet-powered drones will slowly rise over the next months.

Dobropillia direction, update to the quoted post (this information is only partial and incomplete).
4 Russian groups are being recorded between Lidyne and Novoiavlenka, and 2 are going to Serhiivka through Rohanske.
They're being resupplied by drone, so it's possible that the Russians will attempt to reinforce these groups in the future.
In general, the situation remains hard.
In this sector, the Russians committed even more fresh reinforcements, and conserve complete numerical superiority.
Compared to September, pressure increased even further, and they don't seem to be stopping to dig in for winter, instead still continuing to move in small groups everywhere, forcing the Ukrainians to spend manpower to clear them out. In particular, in October the situation started worsening after serious rains started.
Dobropillia direction.
The situation is quite peculiar tactically:
South, after the clearing conducted since August, some Russian groups still remain in the dotted square, mixed with some new infiltrators, but they aren't significant.
Much further north, above Andriivka, a total of 8 small Russian groups of 2-4 people each are moving as we speak towards Rohanske (3 groups), Starovarvarivka (2 groups), and Novoiavlenka (3 groups). Their infiltration routes are marked with a good degree of precision.
The furthest Russian group was recorded almost 20+ km northwest of the red zone
Further west, Russian infiltrators also moved towards Vesela Hora, apparently, approximately as shown (from the southwest), but I don't have complete information here.
In general, those Russian groups do not constitute an operational or even tactical advancement threat, as they are practically encircling themselves, which makes it completely understandable to suspect that they got a task from their command to conduct a flagging operation.
Tactically, though, they are definitely dangerous, as they can still raid and ambush rear Ukrainian positions. At this depth, we're talking about EW/EI positions, temporary deployment points, and artillery and drone positions.
By now, this is not surprising anymore (I recommend reading this: teapawt.net/Playfra0/status/210164…), especially due to the absolutely massive amount of committed Russian manpower.
Nonetheless, soldiers in these directions would be best advised to follow security measures (teapawt.net/Playfra0/status/209254…).

Why Russians succeed in Ukraine (and when they don't)🇷🇺🇺🇦
They aren't stupid (most of them, at least). And constant meatwaves of infiltrators isn't the only way they advance.
First, they hit key positions with artillery, FPVs and glide bombs.
THEN they send small groups to occupy ruins and positions, often way behind our "forward" positions.
9\10 don't make it and turn into fertilizer in the killzone, but one may make it to his destination. Then Russians repeat that a dozen more time, lose dozens and dozens more men, but pool enough infantry behind our lines.
And that is a problem.
Because even scattered barely trained idiots hiding in the ruins still means we need to spend time and manpower hunting them. But another problem is - Russian drones will be looking for our combat teams. And while we are trained to fight enemy FPVs, they still are a danger.
However, slipping through our lines and ACTUALLY holding ground are two VERY different things.
Small groups have little firepower, limited supplies and few options once discovered. Their foothold depends on more men and supplies getting through.
And that’s where we come in.
Our job is to:
A) Get them before they infiltrate behind our lines
B) If they got through - smoke them before any more can show up.
As for Russian firepower - the only good ways to deal with those is to disperse your positions and logistics and hit Russian artillery\drone teams before they can hit you.
Our general objective is to make sure they pay for every inch of our land with dozens of bodies. So far - #Rubizh brigade is handling the objective pretty good❤️
