Signed by the President of the United States @JoeBiden and U.S Secretary of State! I am beyond proud of myself. Did this for the motherland and for my mom 🙌🏾❤️🇬🇲

@PoetLala well done. I enjoy watching your State of Affairs program.
We need young people like you in our government offices 🙏🏾👏🏼🇬🇲
Last week, I had the pleasure of joining the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires for a wonderful engagement with Embassy staff and fellow alumni of U.S. fellowship and exchange programs. We reconnected, shared experiences, and celebrated the lasting value of people-to-people ties.
Last month, I had the privilege of working with former NDI Washington colleagues as a consultant on a pre-election assessment mission in The 🇬🇲, working alongside distinguished practitioners, including Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield & Prof. Attahiru Jega. 1/3
My role focused on providing technical input and contributing to discussions and recommendations aimed at strengthening electoral institutions, processes, and stakeholder confidence ahead of the elections. 2/3

I am honored to share that I have joined the New York State Senate as a Legislative Fellow, working directly with Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick.
Another milestone in my journey of public service, governance & policy.
To serve, impact, learn & grow. May Allah guide me🤲🏾 – at New York, USA
When my friends tell me I’m lazy, I actually believe them lol. My husband made us a home gym, shipped all kinds of equipment, even bought a PA system for entertainment lol. It’s months and I’ve not used it. I just walk pass it everyday like it’s not in my house 😂😂
Women in our family, total WINNERS.
Former Beauty Queen Yamundow Leigh Named Top Doctor at Stamford Hospital
former Gambian beauty queen and Africell brand ambassador Yamundow Leigh has completed residency at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut, as Best Graduating Doctor in her cohort.
Leigh, a University of The Gambia graduate who passed the USMLE and matched into the U.S. programme, was also named Best Outpatient Physician. She received the Most Outstanding Physician Award for exceptional medical knowledge, a Teaching Excellence honour, and the Alfred W. Wolfsohn, M.D. Award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine.
Colleagues cited her clinical skill, compassion and work as a mentor. She now begins a new role as Assistant Clinical Professor.
Her path from pageants and national advertising to one of Connecticut’s leading hospitals has been hailed as a landmark for Gambian doctors training abroad. Supporters say the awards mark not only personal success but a new chapter of teaching and practice.
The heat in New York these days is wild. I don’t remember it being this hot the last time I visited in September. Anyhooooo - as long as I am seeing my jekarr everyday, I am good. 😊
This week, with funding from Ministry of Youth & Sports, we have welcomed 230 young Gambians to the National Youth Service Scheme camp for this year’s TVET Program.
For the next four weeks, they’ll undergo an intensive orientation program which will include thematic classes 1/2
Today, I had the honour of representing the National Youth Service Scheme as Deputy Executive Director at the RISE Project SIE Fund Award Ceremony, alongside His Excellency the President of the Republic, senior government officials, development partners, & key stakeholders. 1/4
This initiative is particularly significant for the National Youth Service Scheme, as several of the beneficiary TVET institutions are long-standing partners with whom we collaborate to deliver skills training to Gambian youth. 3/4
