The color purple has to be one of the best books I’ve read.. the use of language and the raw vocabulary made it even more compelling … Amazing story…
Books I can’t reread:
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell
Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
The Farming of Bones by Edwidge Danticat
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Not because they aren’t good, but they’re simply too painful to experience twice.
Add yours to the list.
The Aftermaths of R-ape for the V-victims
While the R-apist wakes up next morning ,fulfilled, probably dresses up to church in best outfit, sit in front row, sing the loudest - back in that mask that covers the rot inside, completely black and starved of empathy…
Right in …
7. And all the while, the R-apists is living life to the fullest, no pain, no hurts..
Ego boosted - bolder- eyes like that of vulture seeking the next victim..
Most definitely bragged about it and got hailed by friends,
Probably got promoted at the workplace,
They said no hell for bad doings till judgement day.. lol
6. Have I mentioned the psychosis???
When the pain hits deeper as the days go by, you might end up denouncing God and everything you believed in,
You blame yourself.. then you blame God..
You fight God,
You crown yourself god,
You would turn to the wall as an audience and present a monologue all day..
Talking to yourself all day,
The restlessness…
You break down again after the exhaustion, and you let yourself cry as hard as it wants to….
And you begin the cycle the circle again…
5. Heading to the bathroom, trying to wash off that sin you didn’t commit..
Slowly hating your own body..
Wishing it can be replaced…
You turn to Heaven in rage, “Where were you? Where are you now?”
Angry, and at the same time, still begging.
“This pain is too much, I can’t bear it. What wrong did I do? I am the victim here. Please understand.”
4. The nightmares???
Oh! Darling, you would have nightmares of being pinned down…
You would hate to be present here…
When the pain transcends psychologically, your mind would play games with you,
From replaying the scenes in your head to perceiving being touched physically..
You would feel held, like someone is touching you.. it’s not real, but it wouid feel so real…
3. The scene won’t stop re-playing. It’s like being forced to sit at a theatre and re-watch a play over and over again.
“Let it stop”, You would scream.
The more you fight it, the more it becomes a Velcro.
You’d be emotionally, physically and psychologically hurt…
Right in that moment is the pitiful victim. Hanging on the shoulders, the burden. Paying for a sin you did not commit.
Waking up every morning is torture. Imagination messed up… the voices, the voices in your head won’t shut up..
