This issue has now been resolved, and the ongoing Mega Evolution—Chaos Rising Build & Battle Event now correctly allows players to participate in the event.

We're aware of an issue in which the ongoing Mega Evolution—Chaos Rising Build & Battle Event is displaying inconsistent behavior resulting in players either being unable to participate in the event or correctly complete a run.
The team is currently investigating this issue, and we will provide updates once we have more to information share.
